Question about Diamond Multimedia ( VC500) Video Capture

One-touch VC500 Diamond capture card isn't working!

I recently bough a Diamond multimedia one-touch capture card, I installed everything and plugged everything in. However, nothing comes up on my laptop screen when I open my one-touch video capture screen. It's like it is not giving off a signal between my TV and capture card.

The capture card lights go on, and the blue light triggers when I push the record button, but still nothing comes up on the screen.

Also I'm on Windows Vista 32 bit.

Any help would be appreciated!

My tv has 4 sources, PC, TV, AV, and Component. The only 2 sources that are at use are the TV and Component. AV has nothing on it....how do I fix this?

I did the second step and still doesn't work...

  • RaiderDawg Feb 04, 2010

    I have EVERYTHING installed.

My tv (which was made in 2009) only one set of red, yellow, and white cables. And on top of that it is green blue and red. On the side of the green blue and red, it is just white and red. The bottom set of cables goes to the capture card, the green blue and red goes to my Xbox 360.

Am I supposed to have it on AV for it to get a signal?

The video capture cables will need to be connected to the video and audio output connections of your television. They will say "video output/audio output" or "monitor output". If your TV only has audio outputs and no video output then you will need to connect the video capture cables to the output device you are trying to record from. For example: if your cable box has more than one set of video/audio output connections then you can connect the capture connections to the cable box to record whatever channel the cable box is outputting. If the cablebox you are trying to connect to only has one set of audio/video ouputs then you can purchase three RCA jack splitters that will turn one jack into two so that you can hook up the cable box to your TV and your capture card at the same time.Yellow jack is video. Red and White are left/right audio. Let me know if you have more questions.

Make sure you have installed required video codecs such as MPEG 4/3/2/1.

Hello,

After you have the connections, cross check again and follow the steps below;

  1. click Start menu of your laptop
  2. scroll to 'Control panel and click
  3. after control panel has opened click "Power option" icon
  4. Once it has opened, look down the left side of the screen, you would see "Windows mobility center", under "Personalize"
  5. Click the widows mobility center and a dialogue box will come up
  6. from the dialogue box, look out for "External Display"
  7. Click the external display and it will automatically search for connected devices.
If it does not see you device, then you have to cross check your connections.

Take care

    Hello,

make sure the wires are in their right position, like, yellow (Video) for display and white and red for Audio. Also press the AV on the TV.

Secondly, from control panel. click personalize, click display settings. you will see a bold 1 and 2 display box, drag the box 2 to box 1 and press ok.

    Try this, take care.

Windows bugs... I would first remove the card and software and then reinstall. Update drivers under system devices. Try again. There may also be a menu to enable recording, allocate hard disc usage for recording etc.

No signal from Diamond VC500 Capture Device

I have a similar problem. Sometimes it works fine, but it will often have sound but no picture in the box. Other times, there is no input signal showing when I click on the gear wheel to adjust settings. There is no rhyme or reason to the missing picture. Whe I play it back, I do have the picture - usually.

Diamond VC500 is not recording my Xbox 360

Mine does the same thing. I think that the problem might be that you have to go to the yellow gear thing and you have to change the recording format to DVD and you have to change the video format to NTSC_M. And make sure you have all of your hardware and your y splitters connected right

How to set up one-touch video capture vc500

You can use either the S-video or the RCA video connector. I don't think you can use both at the same time but I haven't tested that. Also, if you use the S-video adapter, it has no audio so you also have to use the RCA audio connectors when using S-video. Hope that helps...
