A week ago our oven stopped working during cooking. I had my husband flip the circuit breaker and it still didn't work. 15 minutes later we were able to get it to work again. Today i started to preheat it and this terrible plastic burnt smell started coming out of it with smoke. We purchased the unit four years ago. Can you help me with what may be going on?

Had similar problem with my oven.
Turn off the breaker to the oven/range and remove the panel which exposes the controls. You will probably find a burned spot on the pc board.
Mine was where a spade lug plugged a wire to the board and caused by a loose connector at that lug. I hard wired/soldered the wire to the board (new board was $200+) and the repair lasted several years.

SOURCE: Convection oven not working properly???

your correct the only difference between a regular oven and a convection oven is that it has a fan.when you open the oven door the fan should be spinning to a stop if this is not the case you may have a problem with the fan.

SOURCE: jenn-air jes9800AAB keeps buzzzing, front function panel flashes on and off

Your control panel is getting ready to quit. Mine did the same thing, I ignored it and now nothing on the touch panel works. About $150.00 for the part.

SOURCE: LOST POWER TO OVEN AND CONTROL PANEL

there is no reset buton ,but there are some basic things u can do.first u can chk the power coming into the stove.open the back and u will see power cord connected to the stove.use a multimeter and chk voltage between black and red wire.it should read 240v and black/red with respect to green should read 120 volt.if that is ok look for any burnt wires etc.if all is ok then most likely could have control board.

Wall oven stopped working

Good Morning Peggy, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Typically error code F1 indicates that your range has detected an issue with the runaway temperature (overheating). Try reprogramming your appliance by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. This usually clears most false error codes. Wait approximately ten minutes and if the error code does not clear, I would recommend contacting a professional to proceed further. Most likely the EOC (electronic oven control) will need replacing. Hopes this help!

New microwave stopped working after 15 seconds

Possibly the fuse / breaker is tripped, usually all outlets in one room share same breaker. Check breakers (or fuses) or try outlet in differnt room. If the outlet has power, (plugin a lamp to check) and the microwave still does not work, take it back to store for replacement or refund.

FMV156DCA turns on, cook indicator lights but not cooking, timer counts down fine too

Hello epinvegas - Try reprogramming the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, then it sounds like the microwave has a faulty magnetron, wiring failure or control board. Contact a professional to assist with the repairs.

When our family returned from out of town, we had no heat. I plugged in a small space heater close to the stove to help heat the kitchen. A bit later, I started to make toast and a breaker flipped. Flipped...

Power must be reaching the stove for the lights to work so it would seem something has gone wrong inside the stove. Only exposing the internal connections and testing the circuits will trace the fault.

18 years old, microwave suddenly died

When you say that you checked the circuit breaker, can I assume you meant the one for your home? There is a fuse in the microwave. Typically it is a 20 Amp fuse. To check it you will need to open the cover. A word of warning, there are some high voltage components like the capacitor that should be discharged before working on this device. If you are not familar with electronics, then you should take it to a qualified service person.

Was cooking dinner, and in the middle of dinner, I walked away and heard a popping sound. I checked the oven and it stopped working. My husband turned the breaker off and back on and the stove top works...

It sounds like the bake or broil element went bad and they will make a popping sound. Usually it is visible on the element that it is bad. You may have to measure the element. It should measure 8-30 ohms if good. If there is no visual sign and you are unable to measure elements keep oven off until a repairman comes. Please rate me after reading this.
