Had similar problem with my oven.
Turn off the breaker to the oven/range and remove the panel which exposes the controls. You will probably find a burned spot on the pc board.
Mine was where a spade lug plugged a wire to the board and caused by a loose connector at that lug. I hard wired/soldered the wire to the board (new board was $200+) and the repair lasted several years.
SOURCE: Convection oven not working properly???
your correct the only difference between a regular oven and a convection oven is that it has a fan.when you open the oven door the fan should be spinning to a stop if this is not the case you may have a problem with the fan.

Your control panel is getting ready to quit. Mine did the same thing, I ignored it and now nothing on the touch panel works. About $150.00 for the part.

it is probably the control board. Mine did this and they changed the control board.
SOURCE: LOST POWER TO OVEN AND CONTROL PANEL
there is no reset buton ,but there are some basic things u can do.first u can chk the power coming into the stove.open the back and u will see power cord connected to the stove.use a multimeter and chk voltage between black and red wire.it should read 240v and black/red with respect to green should read 120 volt.if that is ok look for any burnt wires etc.if all is ok then most likely could have control board.
Hello epinvegas - Try reprogramming the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If it proves to be ineffective, then it sounds like the microwave has a faulty magnetron, wiring failure or control board. Contact a professional to assist with the repairs.
Hello - If the oven is working but the cook top is not, the range may possibly be experiencing an issue with a wiring failure or EOC. Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and turn on the cook top. If it proves to be ineffective, contact a professional to move forward accurately.
