There are other AC tractors with heavier spindles that can be substitued as long as the kingpin diameter is the same. I believe the 6070 may work. But then you might also need different bearings and wheels. But the biggest problem is to not force the steering wheel when you are not moving. Spindle breakage is always driver error.

While they may break completely while moving, the cracks are probably started when you use the most lateral strain.

And the only time you need to put a lot of force on the spindle is when you turn the steering on a stationary tractor.

The only thing else that could do it would be vertical strain, and that is just the weight. Getting something towed stuck on something could cause a vertical pressure on the front, but the tires should absorb the jolt. This would also be true when hitting ruts. I suppose excess tire inflation could transmit more of a jolt, but hard to believe it would crack a spindle.

But another alternative is to have it heat treated before installation.

You can have it hardened to make is more like a spring.

You would need a real blacksmith to do that however. Perhaps a shop that does drag racers? They can realign fault lines, or at least magnaflux to tell you if there are any fault lines.

Yes unfortunately they are.

I have personally taken them apart and welded and then welded in reinforcement pieces to beef them up.

I have a Quantum CXL Singer sewing machine and the thread keeps breaking. It will make about 3 stitches and breaks. It is breaking in the same place.

Make sure the thread coming off the spool is not wrapping around the spool spindle. Install a brand new needle. Remove ALL the thread from the machine. Clean bobbin area of any dust, lint, threads. Set upper tension to the midpoint. RAISE the presser foot and then totally re-thread the machine from beginning to end verifying the sequence is correct. Test.

How hard is it to replace a outside tie rod end on a 95 dodge neon and how.

take the wheel off, there is a nut on the tie ron locking the tie rod end in place loosen this up (only break it free do not back way off) now take the nut offthe tie rod end that goes into the spindle, Hit the side spindle with a hammer right were the end goes in while pulling up on the tierod end (may take a few hard hits)> Now that you have the end out of the spindle you can unscrew the tie rod end from the inner tierod.*******NOTE*******measure the distance between the locknut on the inner tie rod to the middle of the outer tierod end,You want to keep that same distance or your car will pulll to one side and you'll need a wheel allignment.

What is the correct way to hook up the starter cellinoid on a Allis Chalmer D17 series 4?

Well first make sure that the routing coil is clean of debris and dirt. Then you are going to want to oil both sides before assembly. The cellinoid connects the same way an oscillating pendullum does. Just with a bolt! Easy as that on both ends....just be sure to adjust pressure from valve so you don't create a dangerous situation from pressure build up!!........Happy trails!

Need to replace steering arm on pass side on 1998

Your description leads me to believe that the spindle is bent. This is the piece that the tie rod attaches to near the wheel. Sometimes the tie rod is attached to a piece that attaches to the spindle which is rather intuitive. Just remove the tie rod end, unbolt the arm that attaches to the spindle and replace the arm. In this case the only special tool you'll need is a tie rod seperator.

If the arm is a part of the spindle and cannot be removed easily:

1) Put vehicle in park and safety brake on - chock the rear wheels
2) Lift passenger side front wheel and put on jack stands
3) Remove wheel and have a friend apply brake pressure
4) Loosen hub nut with appropriate socket (22 to 35mm)
You can purchase the socket from your local auto parts store
You'll need a large breaker bar, its torqued to about 100ft-lbs
5) Remove tie rod end with a tie rod/ball joint separator
This can also be purchased at your local auto parts store.
Some spindles are made with tie rod end permanantly attached
If it is removable, remove nut and drive the separator tool
between the tie rod and spindle using a large hammer.
It'll eventually break free from the spindle.
6) Remove the strut with a strut spring compressor tool
WARNING - THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS
This can be purchased at your local auto parts store.
Compress spring before removing lower bolts (2 of them).
The strut may be left on vehicle but the spring must be
compressed.
7) Remove caliper and break assembly
Loosen the two slide bolts that go through the caliper assembly
Remove caliper and breaks - let it hang by the tubing
8) Detach upper and lower ball joints with seperator tool as in #5
9) Finally remove the hub nut from #4
The spindle should slide off the axle
10) Repair or replace the spindle and put it all back together in
reverse order using new wheel bearings. Pack them with axle
grease if theyr'e not the sealed type.

NOTE: The tie rod end may need to be replaced also. The vehicle will need a front end allignment. Be sure to torque the hub nut to the manufacturers specifications - at least 75ft-lbs. You should probably replace the wheel bearings.
