    Hi

I have now installed some old speakers and plugged them into the back of the monitor. Audio Out...the only possible access point. I have also set up the Control Panel - Display Option - Sound and Audio Devices to Desktop Stereo Speakers. The speakers are live, but still no sound when I play an attachment from an email.

My old monitor had integrated speakers/mic, but I located some old speakers and connected them. The speakers are testing ok, but no sound from email attachments, that should have some.

    Hi Rajeshpait

I am getting sound from the speakers and Outlook is already configured as you suggest, ie.to 'play a sound'. I also notice, that the DVD player is not responding either. Tks

    Hi Rajeshpait

    I get no sound

    1) when an email is received

    2) when there is an attachment with a film with sound, ie. .wmv attachment

    3) when I play a DVD or CD.

All volume controls are on high and all the settings are the same as as they were with the old monitor, that had intigrated speakers, with the exception of the 'speaker setting' in the Control Panel - Sound & Audio Devices. I changed these from Monitor Stereo Speakers to Desktop Stereo Speakers.

The speakers seem to be 'live' because there is sound when the PC is powered on/off. Tks

1st option: If you can detach the speakers from the old monitor and connect the same will resolve your problem. For microphone you need to buy the same.

2nd Option: You can buy new speakers and Microphone.

1st step: Need to check whether you are able to getting sound from speakers. If Yes, Then you need to configure the sound option in your Outlook to get sound whenever you receive the new mails. For this go to Outlook>>Tools>>Options>>Preferences>>Email options>>Advanced Email options and select "play a sound" option in when new items arive in my INBOX.

Tell me the exact problem you are facing? Are you getting sound whenever you receive any emails? Check whether you have installed proper driver for DVD. Also check the DVD device status using device manager.

This seems to be some problem with your sound card. Check whether you have selected the proper settings in control panel>> sound and audio devices >> Audio tab and default device in sound play back.

Still you are facing the problem, try to reinstall your sound card drivers may solve your problem.

Hello,

since your new monitor does not have speaker(s), you can simply get and external speaker and connect it to your PC.

At the back of your PC you will find space for speakers and mic. Or you can get a USB speaker to save you the stress.

This will sure be of help.

Take care.

I get ALOT of feed back, why? I can't use it like that. I've talk with the a Tech and he said I needed to stand further away from the amp, which I am.

This sounds like your gain is too high. Adjust it down. Every mic has different gain settings so you can't just blanket this with the other one works fine. Is this wired or wireless?

I have had to revert to my old computer and old HP 1907v monitor and cannot get any sounds at all

You will need a set of Speakers as that monitor does not have a built-in speaker system. Then all you need to do is plug them in using the 3.5 mm stereo/headphone connector in the socket at the back of the PC, usually the green colored one is Audio output and the pink is the Microphone input.

People can only here me faintly at the other end

Hi,

If you bought a webcam, dont assume it has a microphone built in, not all of them do.. if you do have one, then make sure it isnt muted (double clicking the speaker in the system tray next to your clock, and make sure the mic isnt muted, if it isnt and you still have no sound, the microphone header on your motherboard may be connected incorectly or not at all, if you are plugging the microphone into the front of the PC, take it out and use the pink plug at the back (one one labelled with a picture of a microphone).
Check your sound preferences by double clicking the speaker icon in the corner of the monitor first. Make sure it's working there, it's in the Input Tab. Then when you are sure it's working there, go into Skype preferences and change your mic input to the appropriate mic input, and then use the Test Call to check your microphone settings to see if they work, if you hear yourself then others will be able to hear you.

Thank you!
