Internet Conn?...did you check the plug from your modem to built LAN card in your PC?...if its done...did you install the LAN driver to your PC...(LAN driver is in the MOTHERBOARD DRIVER)...if you do that also, why dont you check the double monitor, its located in the lower right side, beside the digital clock..right click, and go to open network connections...You will see a dialog box, and right click the Lan Area Connections, and double click, see the dialog box again?..you will see the two title bar, in the upper left side..there's a General and Support..you also see the blue title, one is Connectivity and other one is Activity..check your status in your connection, is it connected or not?..if not..go to the SUPPORT,(upper left side)..you will see a connections status , click repair it..
then after that..
restart your computer...
see ya..
thanks..

So I just got a Dell Optiplex sx280 that runs windows xp and can't connect it to the wireless internet at my house. The built-in driver is a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller, and I don't...

Desktop computers do not usually have a wireless card installed. They will have a built-in LAN card that uses a LAN cable.
If you want to connect your computer using a wireless connection then you will need to install a wireless card in your computer and configure it to communicate with your wireless router.
Otherwise you can connect to your wireless router using a LAN cable.
Your wireless router may have built-in LAN ports and you can connect your computer to the wireless router using a network cable.

No sound and no internet connection after clean and reinstall xp pro.

After reinstalling your xp, the next thing to do is install the drivers of your motherboard. the drivers include lan card and sound card drivers. The lan card needs to work so you can explore the internet.. while the sound card needs to work so there will be sounds on your speaker.

If you don't have the drivers,, I can help you get one just tell me the model of your motherboard. and or sound card and lan card..

Hope this help.
Much appreciated if you could rate this help. thanks

Network Connections are Gone!

I would check in device manager (control panel) and see if the network card is listed. It probably has a yellow exclamation point next to it.
If there is an exclamation point there, then right click the card and click uninstall.
Next, using your wifi to access the internet, download the latest network card driver from the PC vendor website / Motherboard vendor site / discrete network card site.
Install the network card driver and you should be back in business.

My system is connecting to the internet

You can download the driver for your onboard lan (network card) here.
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_P4_4600&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid
Download the Intel 10/100 LOM under Network. The file is in zip format and you will need to unzip it then run the setup to install you network card.

Have a great day
Hope this helps

Gateway 505GR not showing LAN line for internet

assuming it's XP,right click my computer>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look down list for network adapters, if its there click the '+' sign, then right click on the network adapter and select uninstall.

Restart pc and the network card will be found and the driver automatically installed.

It should now be in network connections, if not reply back
