1. UNPLUG THE PLAYER
2. Remove the screws, usually 2-3 on each side, possibly 2 in the back also. Then lift off the top of the player
3. after this push the drive out so you can get your disk out.
4. reassemble the player
5. plug it back in and it should be fine.

P.S. - as for the HD voltage it should be 1.5v, exactly the same as a computer.

Hope this helps :)

Hi have a nice day.
Read user guide instructions about how to release DVD tray and get DVD out.
Dont you use cheap DVD's, it will lock up after you record when it is in the finalization phase. In the box is a piece of paper marked important. It says, "use compatible discs that have been tested with the DRC8000N"
Listed DVD's:
RCA
RICOH
PHILIPS
VERBATIM
SONY
MAXELL
TDK
IMATION
Good Luck

Hey!

All of you guys are correct that the ultimate solution is the service center of the stuff, and if the service center solution is not possible am sure that they will offer a new one.

Maybe you can claim warranty of your stuff.

Hi,

Press the up or down Channel button. It will change the output mode to the RF which is probably the way you have it connected.

Goodluck..

    Hi again,

see if there is a little pin hole in the face plate or bezel of your
dvd player... stick a paper clip in it and it will release your DVD
tray and you can get your DVD out. Then Plug it back in and see if it
    will reboot.. it should.

Also check if the wires and the adapter are properly connected to the player..

This can also be cured by doing a Hard Re-Set while the disc & tape were in the machine.
Just plain old pulling the plug, counting to 40 seconds and reattaching the power cord..

If you have a manual you can also go through that...

  • Priya darshan Feb 20, 2008

alright then go ahead and open it up cuz that's the only solution..

  • Priya darshan Feb 20, 2008

I have given you all the best possible solutions if the y don't fix your problem I suggest you to get it replaced or repaired..

    Thanx for using fixya..

Open the DRC carefully from it back, first take out the DVD stuck in there.
After that it should work.

I NEED POWER SUPPLY BOARD FOR DRC8030N

I am sure that the fault was relative of the bad capacitor and swapping the working board has proved. Hope that solves the issue as all what is needed is to check and replace all the suspected capacitor is the Primary /Secondary side as the SMPS is working BUT with a limited voltage. So the threshold is low and so can be a tank capacitor, change the mains capacitor and also the secondary +B side.

Won't turn on, just says "Hello" and will load no further

This is due to one of the IDE devices inside (Hard Drive or DVD drive) not sending the requires "I am Ready" signal to the main board while the DVR does a power on self test. With the hundreds of units I have come across, 99% of the time it is due to a faulty DVD drive. These "Loader" brand DVD drives were on the cheap and when they give out, the unit does not go past the Hello. You can verify this by replacing the the DVD drive with any other DVD burner or DVD drive or even a CD drive that comes from a computer (IDE connector). The only fix for this is to replace the drive or simply connect an old CD drive inside and not use the DVD properties of the DVR, only the hard disk recording/playback.

I want to find a replacement for DRC8030N

you can replace the DVD-RW yourself with any computer DVD/DVD-rw drive.  You will need to modify the way it sits in the unit as the screw holes will be different and some drilling will most likely be needed to make new screw holes.  Finding an original replacement DVD-RW for this unit will be hard because the first problem that this unit has is a constant HELLO message due to a faulty DVD-RW, so they are in high demand.

RCA DRC8030N No output

Connect the unit as you normally would using the composite cables. Once you turn the unit on and the RCA logo flashes and then the video *poof*, dissappears, press the Video Out button on the remote control so that the PS OFF (progressive output for S-Video) is shown on the LCD, this should get the video back to normal.

Drc8030n Motherboard

Thank you so much for sending me those parts, and an extra thanks for the extras. Which happens to be what I needed to fix my problem. You won't believe it... I got your well-packaged parts today. I soon replaced the Motherboard, no change, still the same HELLO... I was so deceived... Then, I decided to replace the Power Supply, just in case... IT WORKED!... (thanks for sending me a free power supply)... Looking at my power supply, I can see that on the printed circuit under those 3 diodes, near the transformer, is an area that seems to have overheated. I will test it and give you the results eventually, as well as the results and solution if I can fix the DVD burner. I'll use the extra fan you so generously gave me to cool the power supply, seems like it won't hurt. Though I have to place it right, or it'll make the problem worse... Seems like anything wrong with this DVR and all it'll do is display HELLO... I've heard of a bad DVD Burner, a bad Motherboard and now a bad Power Supply that causes the HELLO... Thank you so very much GSAN, you did it... I recommend you to everyone out there for your fairness, kindness and devotion. We should call you Mr. FixYa!...

RCA DRC8030N Problem

This is due to the DVD-RW drive that is in the unit. This is the first to fail and RCA seems to have gone with the lowest bidder on this model. The DVD-RW drive will need to be replaced. If you used the DVR to watch and burn DVDs then you will need to replace it with any computer DVD-RW but you may need to re-drill some holes to have the replacement drive fit exactly aligned with the DVD door. If you only want to use this DVR for the internal hard drive recording and TV viewing, then any CD or DVD computer drive will do, just simply connect the replacement drive and leave it in the case (you wont have access to the DVD or CD drive under this option). If you do replace the drive, make sure you match up the jumper on the back so that it will be in the same position as in the original DVD drive ( the Master setting). I hope I did not scare you with all this information, but unfortunately, the dreaded HELLO issue with the DRC8030N has no easy fix.

For DVD that are stuck. Unplug the unit from the power source. Flip open the DVD dust door (FROM TOP TO BOTTOM) now you can see the DVD disk tray. Look under it to see a white gear arm, you can push on this to unlock the tray and pull it out manually. Now you have your DVD back.
