Please explain how ceiling lights are associated with microwave ovens. You might be better off resubmitting under the correct category to get your problem answered by the right expert.

Thanks for using FIXYA

You may not get an answer because your question is very confusing. You are asking about a Microwave and talking about lights on the ceiling which appears to be a florescent which you replaced 3 tubes on, but then you mention a board and a f3h? None of this really makes any sense to me. Maybe someone else may be able to understand but I cannot. Please elaborate in detail.

The code F3H indicates a Humidity sensor failure. Try unplugging the microwave for 5 minutes and see if the error code goes away. If not, check the connections at the sensor.

My Amana Radarange over the stove microwave started to omit a "burnt rubber" smell and stopped defrosting or heating anything all of a sudden. Model #MVH15W. Still works otherwise, lights on...

You're describing a common smell that goes along with a magnetron tube that has failed. The magnetron tube makes the microwaves, and will eventually fail if you keep a microwave long enough. They can fail in a couple of different ways, and one is to short out accompanied by that burning smell. It's probably not worth trying to repair your oven because of its age. I don't believe the magnetron is available any longer. If it is, it will be costly, and replacing the tube is best left to a professional because of safety concerns. Your most economical choice would be to replace the oven.

When trying to popcornn the sense goes off and F3H comes on

F3H means you have a failing humidity sensor, but the first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

If you don't find yours, or if you want to look at it without disassembling the oven, you can usually download it here.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number from the tag on the oven here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

Error Code

I would recheck the control board installtion that you made, as well as verify that you got the correct replacement. Also the board may contain static sensitive componets so you might want to make sure you are grounded when handleing the control panel. Good luck

Microwave troubleshooting

I found the fix to the F3H error on another site. Just turn the power to the microwave off for ~2 minutes at the circuit breaker, and then turn it back on. Microwave will start working again then.

Digital display lighting

The solution depends first on the type of display your microwave has. Please refer to the picture. The left side shows a partially defective LCD type display. If you have this type of display, we regularly repair them for $32.50 nationwide. The right side is a VFD type display which is weak due to age. On some brands and models, we are able to get a replacement display tube and repair it to a like-new brightness. Feel free to e-mail me at _ if you have other questions.
