Remove the thread completely and rethread the machine from the beginning. Be sure to RAISE the presser foot BEFORE threading the upper thread.

My machine bunches tread on the bottom of the fabric when sewing. What am I doing wrong. This machine is new to me.

thread bunching under material is an indication that the needle thread is not at the correct tension
tighten up the tension setting until the result is where the both treads meet at the center of the materials being sewn
practice on pieces of scrap until you get it right

Right looper tread won't stay threaded properly

Consult your owner's manual and verify that you are threading the lower looper correctly--not skipping any steps, making sure the lower looper thread crosses OVER the upper looper thread in its last step before going under the presser foot.

Singer advance7422 burst the tread

When you thread the top do it with the foot in the up position. As you thread you should notice the ease of movement through the tension, holes, etc. If you come to a point it is sticking, check why. The tension could be a problem. Anyway, if you don't seem to have a problem hear then put your foot down. Pull on the thread to see if it is stuck or not moving with an extreme amount of difficulty. You may need to lower the tension. A good starting point is 3. I expect your tension is the problem. If it is still the problem then lower the bobbin tension slightly. By the time you finish the knot should be in the middle of the fabric. Sometimes there is one more problem It is the thread is poor quality and is unravelling in the needle hole. Observe this closely as you sew. You know what to do if this is the problem.

When the needle is not pulling the bottom tread

is this the first time you use a sewing machine? if you are very familiar with the way the thread is pulled out of the bottom spool, I'd say you need a technician, here is how to install bottom spool in case you don't know. after filling spool, pull thread out through the small gap on the side of the spool holder, then holding the small arm on the holder outward insert the spool holder in to the socket and release after fully inserted. after that the thread should come out the top by manually turning the machine to lower needle

Why is it not sewing, it's treaded right the bobbin is wound right, but it does not work

THREADING a machine can vary from machine to machine. THEN the kind of and quality of the thread will make a big difference. Don't stop with the cheapest thread. Make sure it has poly cotton instead of straight cotton. Some wear the fibers and they fall into the threading mechanism area. Resulting in having to have it taken apart.

I need a treading diagram of 2040

My 7th grade Home Ec. theacher said "All machines thread the same", its;
spool thread
thread guide
thread guide
tension
take up lever
thread guide
thread guide
needle
The number of thread guides may vary among machines, but this is the basic for all machines I've encountered. and by following this, I've been able to thread them all. Guess she was right. Hope this helps.

I have an husqvarna Viking mega quilter18x8 with the imperial frame. I am having problems with the tension and the tread keeps breakingms with. The tension and the tread keeps breaking. HELP!!

If the thread breaks at the needle and is feeding smoothly from the spool, you may have the tension too high. It is impossible to say what the setting should be because the knob rotates all the way around several times. Loosen it off until you see needle thread pull to the back of the quilt, then tighten until it just balances the interlocking of the stitch in the fabric. Test with little swirls, that's most likely to pull needle thread to back. Also, check that the needle is properly installed and that the hook to needle timing and clearance are good.Nesting of thread underneath usually happens if the foot lifter is left up or the tread is not fully in the disks of the tension unit.

Tread keeps coming out of the needle.

Make sure you sink the needle into the fabric before starting to sew. If that isn't it...remove the thread and rethread the machine. Make sure the thread isn't wrapped around the spool holder.
