I suppose your laptop must still be under warranty, so you could easily get a replacement for the faulty hard drive.
If it is out of warranty, then depending on various factors (budget, warranty) you would have choices. Seagate is a well known brand for hard drives. You may want to check the availability with the Lenovo service center guys too.

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Acer aspire one model zg5 is in a loop of erecovery management and gives error message cannot format the object drive

If you mean laptop is in boot loop ?

Check to see if there are any keys stuck/depressed.

If so, use a paperclip and fit it underneath the key and gently pry the end that is stuck.

Make sure the laptop is off before attempting this.

Observe where the boot process ends and starts over.

In most cases, this will give an indication where the problem occurs.

If the laptop reboots early on in the process, for example when it is detecting the hard drive, chances are good it is a hardware issue.

If the reboot occurs further along in the process, like when it is loading operating system files, there may be an issue with operating system software.

Boot in safe mode or the operating system equivalent.

Windows, Unix/Linux and Mac operating system have a mode that will load the minimum software needed to boot.

This is a standard approach in troubleshooting, as it only supports the minimum hardware needed to complete the boot into the operating system.

Once you are logged into the computer, device drivers can be updated, software removed and so forth.

To boot into safe mode in Windows, hit the "F8" key when the computer first starts up to get a submenu.

From there select a boot option. Many choose "Safe mode with command prompt" as this will go line by line through the boot process, allowing you to isolate where the problem might be.

To boot into a different run level in Unix/Linux, it depends on the version of Unix/Linux, but most have the option of a "recovery mode."

During boot hit the "Esc" or "E" key and select the mode appropriate such as "drop to root shell," etc.

If you have the ability to get into command shell, enter into run level 1 (single user mode) by typing in "init 1."

To start in safe boot on a Macintosh laptop, hold the "Shift" key as it boots up.

This forces a disk check and loads minimal software in efforts to complete the boot process, much like the other operating system's "safe modes."

Check to see if your laptop is overheating.

Laptops have a greater likelihood of overheating than desktops.

Either touch the laptop or download an application such as Mobile Meter to check laptop temperature.

If it is running hot, try using canned air to clear out of vents, etc.

Also, elevating the laptop off of its resting surface allows greater airflow in and out of the laptop

hope this helps

My laptop says no bootable instert disk

sounds like its not picking up or hard drive HDD or that its not booting from it 1st thing to check is if ur system sees the hdd u can see it in the bios on the first screen where it starts booting up and says ur manifacturer itl say something like press f2 to enter bios press it look around till u find the primery hdd is one showing or is it saying not found ? if showing itl say manifacturer and size ie samsung e123 500G or something once u checked exit without saveing

if it dont show u have a bad connection or a broken hard drive check connections

and let us know the results and a little more info on how u get to this message would help us i expect its the case u cant get windows to load up u just get this error message because the laptop cant comunicate with the hard drive and windows is loaded on that hard drive

it could be that its seeing ur hard drive however the operateing system is too badly corrupted to run

if this is the case laptops often have a backup made at the plant u press a cuple of keys at start up to run a restore im not sure what keys off hand

or you can start in safe mode running only basic parts of the os enough to get on and fix things

failing that if ur picking up the drive just fine and cant get ur old operateing system to run reinstall the os ( windows etc )

going by the info given id say its dead or poor connection to the hdd given that its a lap top its less likely to have a bad connection because there is no wire it slots straight in to the board so chances are its dead but till u check the bios to see if its being picked up at all who can tell

yes there is usualy a small message on the starting up screen where the motherboard detects installed hardware and it shuld say it there not detected point is check the cmos see if ur picking up ur primery hdd and we will go from there

Hi there, please try this trobuleshooting steps. after you push the power button quickly tap the F12 key until you reached too boot options menu. once you are already at the menu, select you Hard drive usually harddrive represent as model e.g WDC **** it means western digital. once you slected the harddrive your computer should boot now to your Harddrive. if else fails, waht you need now is to check if you cmputer was able to detect you harddrive. restart the computer then this time keep tapping the F1 key to enter the utility setup. once inside the setup check your system information under internal HDD if motherboard can detect your harddrive. if yes, then all you need to do there is to use the recovery cd that came with the system then boot your computer from the cd rom then install you windows. If not, then you have to contct your manufacturer. that could be a defective harddrive. please let me know if you need more help.

thanks

Reinstalling

Hard drive has bad sectors on it which is why its giving you that message even though you can go thru the restore. Normally going thru the system cd and then the recovery cd should bring you into windows with the device drivers installed.

Sounds like the hard drive could be bad, or maybe it is trying to boot from the cd drive. The "Check media cable" is the error that bugs me. In your bios, you can usually have the computer boot from a CD Rom drive, or a usb flash drive, etc.. instead of the hard drive where the operating system is. Make that :

1. there is no cd in the cd drive.
2. When the laptop boots, don't touch the keyboard while booting.
Try that and lets see if it will boot into the cd drive.
