I was thinking it might be the thermostat, but I will check all. I'
start that. I'm at work so I'll have to check it out later and let you
    know. Thanks, Matt.

Hi: I checked the thermostat and it is good. I checked the control
panel and smart board and saw nothing wrong. The display is working
fine and when you push start it lights up and the turntable gos around.
When I replaced the magnatron the unit was on its side and I took out
the HV. I wrote the colors of the wires. If I have these backwards
could this be the problem? Thanks, Matt

Hi: Is it possible I have the red, blue, black wires to the HV in the wrong order?

Hi,

It could be either Power Diode or High Voltage Capacitor.

Chances are you didnt need the mag.
You need to check the various components
such as HV diode and capacitor before purchasing
any other parts. One of them may be shorted.

There all kinds of possibilities, I’ll just list a few.

    Burnt wire connection

    Bad high voltage components, such
as high voltage capacitor or diode.
Any of which could be brought on
    by a bad magnetron.

A bad winding in the transformer.

These are just a few possibilities.
Some troubleshooting needs to be done
in order to isolate exactly what’s at the root
of the problem and determine how severe it is.

On this microwave oven, I don't believe the new magnetron came with a thermostat(black and silver piece that mounts on the side of the magnetron and two wires plug into it) you might want to check that out with an ohmmeter just for continuity, another area to look for is in the control panel area, some space-savers have two electronic panels, the first one (closest to the front) is the control panel and the second part which is the part facing inside is called a smart board, both panels develop loose solder connection due to heat build up(specially the smart board) look around the connectors and relays. and finally you have the door switches some times called interlock switches, sometimes they get erratic because of constant wear, other times they just freeze in a certain position, causing the oven inoperable. All these suggestions only apply if you have a working display in the microwave(alive in other words).

why are you cooking rice for 30 minutes in a microwave????? the problem is that a microwave IS NOT A RICE COOKER!!!use a rice cooker or use instant rice and heat the water for 2 1/2 minutes only!! OR BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE!!

My GE Profile JVM3670SK02 microwave stopped heating. Can it be fixed?

Anything can be fixed, it all depends on how much it will cost to repair. Sometimes it just pays to buy another microwave oven they have come down in price quite a bit

HVM1750 won't heat

The magnatron is likely to be the problem... though I have seen the fuses go , they usually follow the magnatron.
If your unit is under 5 years old , the Mag is covered under warranty and all you need to do is contact GE at
gechsconsumerrelations@ge.com

with the serial number of your unit and they will send you the replacement magnetron imediately and free of charge.

You are responsable to have the part installed , but there are videos on Utube that will walk you thru it no problem.

Problem with the GE Spacemaker (JVM1640SJ) Microwave Oven GE Spacemaker XL1800 won't heat food anymore....It worked this morning, now won't heat. What should I do?

GE Will replace the magnetron for 9 years! Mine is a 2004 model with a one year warrently according to manual. HOWEVER they did say the magnatron was covered for nine years: call 888-239-6832. When I called they said thats all they get calls for and would send out in 3-5 days. NO CHARGE. I had to ask if there was coverage longer than a year on major parts and that's when they offered the info and I eventually was transferred to the right office. Saved $120 bucks on parts alone.

Mircowave runs but doesn't heat and it has a load hum.

You may need a new microwave..however, the diode may be defective or the magnatron tube may need replacing,,The magnatron tube is only warranted for 5 years so it may be used up as the model is (10years)fairly old.

more than likely the fuse has blown onthe magnatron it is the button looking thing on the magnatron with two wires. there are 2 of these one is on the magnatron the other is above the heat box test these for open. if open replace. if good then replace the magnatron.

Not heating

Either the magnatron or the high-voltage capacitor and diode. Replace the capacitor and diode then if still not working, replace the magnatron. Its only affordable if you do it yourself - buy the part on EBAY - lookup "universal magnatron"
Hope ya fix it!
