Plastic ware and even glass will get "etched" and look cloudy from use and from dishwashers.. The "clouding" effect could allso be causeed if the water is soft (mean not hard water) and if there is to much soap - it wont runs off properly..

Why clear top lacquer turn white cloudy?

mostly this will happen when the lacquer has moisture in it and you put something hot or cold on the surface causing the moisture to expand or contract and it flexes causing it to lose clarity, just like putting a crease in a clear plastic bottle causing it to go cloudy.

most likely this is on a bench top and is possibly because the wrong type of lacquer was used...sand back and start again

I have yamaha sniper 2009 and only 4000km in odometer but when i start engine in the morning there is a cloudy smoke come i dont understan why.appreciate you help

If this white smoke comes out of the exhaust for the first couple of minutes after the cold start, then it is normal humidity evaporating. But if it insists then it would be better to check it with your dealer.

We have a dishwasher that has cleaned great for six or seven years but all of a sudden we have started seeing a white film on all of our black plastic utensils, like spoons and the such. Now some is on...

If you have hard water, glasses can look spotted and cloudy even after cleaning. Sometimes changing the dishwasher detergent can help. The easiest solution to clearing up glasses that start to look cloudy is to add some vinegar to the bottom of the dishwasher before you start a cycle. Simply add 1 cup of white vinegar and it will clear up your glasses very well.
You should see marked improvement after the first time you do this. If they are not crystal clear then simply repeat the process until all of the cloudiness is gone. In fact I recommend to using a little vinegar in each cycle to maintain the clarity of the glass.

Note: you can pre-test this by rubbing some vinegar on an individual glass with a cloth. If you cannot remove the cloudiness by soaking it and rubbing vinegar on it then it is possible that the glass is etched due to harsh or cheap dishwasher detergent and vinegar will not solve the problem.

My GE dishwasher is leaving all the glasses, pan lids and plastic with streaks of white film that must be scrubbed off. I had a repairman in who took apart the strainer and could not find the problem

Instead of the usual Full black screen I got a cloudy white screen making all the images just like covered with a transparent or opaque white plastic.

That happens when the monitor goes off but the inverter light failed to switch off. The triac on the inverter board is shorted and must be replaced. When the triac on the inverter board is shorted a continues voltage is supply to the inverter light (or cold cathode) making your monitor to look like a transparent white plastic.
