SOURCE: Washer keeps stopping, not finishing cycle.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it (4 to 6 inches maximum) Of course some direct the hose into sink, fine. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Machine stuck in drain mode, & will not register in other cycles....turning machine off does not reset cycle?

Washers are computer and they must finish the program you last started. So with that being said the washer is trying to finish the cycle you start before it can move on. If it keeps draining there must be a clog in the pump. The water may be below the inner clothes basket so you can't see it. The washer knows it is not all drained out so it keeps trying. A model number would be helpful.

I'm trying to disable the safety on the top load fridgidaire washer because it keeps malfunctioning and not finishing the rinse cycle.

This is something that is designed into the feature of this combo stack unit and cannot be bypassed at this current time - from my research.

Cycle switch keeps tripping

Switch actuator (usually on washer lid) is probably broken if you can complete the cycle by depressing switch manually.
