Vertical sync problem. This issue could be related to faulty capacitors on the PIP module, as the vertical sync runs through the PIP module. If you would like to know how to by pass the module to test if it is the PIP module let me know and will post the procedure.

Display flickering

It is not flickering. It is horizontal rolling. Picture rolls horizontally at a very high speed, and you see it to be flicker. Total loss or horizontal synchronization signal is the fault, and it is related to its chroma processor IC. It is very skilled work to troubleshoot this section, and user can't do this with ease. It is risky too. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked below. It has over 2400 posts now, and all are related to service help to different brand TVs. Pull up older posts there. You can also do a search by the brand name and model number to your device under concern; by type in the brand name and model number to its search box, located at the top right of the display window.http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Good morning, I am in the moving business and have a customer that wants me to move their large TV Mitsubishi medallion tv. She thinks is comes apart in two peices for easy moving and I need instructions...

If the model is a WS-65809 that sey doesnt come apart. Actually very few rear projection TVs can be seperated Some RCA TVs can be disassembled to several pieces. Also I would let customer know that because a CRT TV has three CRTs that are aligned to each other , Moving the TV will cause the convergence to be adjusted. Based on model it can be just pressing the auto convergence option with the remote, But older rear projection TVs (2003 and older) have been known to blow ICs after a move when trying to reset the convergence. The ICs weaken over age and they can blow anytime the convergence adjustment feature is used, so its always a good thing to let someone know that even if very careful when being moved there set may develop convergence issues after a move because its a 3 CRT rear projection TV

Tv flickers, blacks screen and then is normal.

Check a capacitor in the signal board. The location is C2V29 [printed on the TV board] which should be a 16 volt 22Mfd capacitor. This little guy can certainly cause you TV to Flicker. You will also need to inspect all the solder grounds and be sure there are no cracked rings on any and all ICs. These ICs will be mounted on heatsinks. The pins are located underneath the TV board. I have repaired many of these TVs! Thanks for asking and give me some hands of support!

Projection television acting like an old picture tube TV.

Yes, I used to work in Best Buy and one of the key things about rear projection TVs and the reason they push those service plans on you is that the tubes/colors need to be calibrated each year. You can do this yourself by checking out the following website:

There was a problem with the sony projection tv's that they called a flicker. Do a google search on your TV and flicker or search sony and flicker. There is all kinds of info about a service bulliten that Sony sent out. There were fixing it at no charge but Im not sure if this fix still applies since the tv's are getting older now.
