I have had the exact same problem with Kodak's coloring book option.

A year or so ago, the images could be easily altered to the coloring book appearance and after saved, still looked clear and the lines were black and rich. Lately, it hasn't been working as it did earlier. When I save the coloring book image, and immediately after I save it, it looks very light, and almost undetectable as far as the image goes. I contacted Kodak and they indicated that there wasn't any problem as far as they knew and weren't any help in rectifying the issue. Not sure what is causing it but it was a cool feature and now it isn't working. Bummer. Any ideas?

Maybe your picture is to light... try taking it to Black & white... and then to Cartoon. I know that the Coloring Book effect does that to my over exsposed pics a lot

How do you take a black and white photo with olympus tg-310?

The TG-310 does not have any way of taking black&white photos, nor does it offer a method to convert photos to black&white.
However, you can convert a color photo to black&white (or sepia, or cyanotype, or a lot of other effects) using just about any photo editing program on a computer. This actually gives you more control over the conversion, as you can control things like contrast and brightness.

I have a Canon S51S camera and have taken pictures that I want to see in black & white. How can I do that. I have been looking for hours!!

You can convert photos to black-and-white or add other color effects by adding My Colors effects. Full details are in the "Adding My Colors Effects" section of the Advanced Guide (page 117 in my copy). If you need a manual, you can download it from the manufacturer's web site at

How to switch from color to black and white setting on camera body

I advise you not to do this. If you want your shots in black and white, it is very easy to convert them in an image editing program on a computer. However, if you take the pictures using the black and white setting on the camera, you can never convert them back to the original colour. This also applies to the other effects offered by some cameras- a computer program will give you any effect that the camera can, and more, and do them better, without locking you in. Offering these settings in a camera is just a gimmick.

How i can catch a black and white photo?

If your camera offers this it will be in the "Effects" settings. If not, just take the pictures in colour and use a photo editing program on a computer to convert them to monochrome. You may have gotten a photo editing program with the camera, but there are many others downloadable for free on the net, try www.download.com.

What are the effects of using Adobe RGB?

It is possible to reproduce the more vivid color by Adobe RGB because this can obtain more color space than sRGB. At processing image and editing the degree of freedom of Adobe RGB is high. However some colors cannot be reproduced on monitor of PC, and sometimes the images look almost same as those recorded by sRGB. Some cases you can obtain the effects when printing as some colors can be reproduced by printer though the colors which are impossible to reproduce on monitor of PC.
