Hi, I had the same problem with my AOC. I tried pressing this button called 'PC' on the remote control. Around 5 seconds later, the LCD turned off. Problem still exist the next time you turn the LCD on but you now know where to press to turn it off. Oh, btw, make sure your laptop is not connected to the LCD via the video cable when you attempt to turn off the LCD using the 'PC' button.

What resolution is the AOC monitor capable of using?
What is default resolution of the device you are connecting?
If the default is 1080P and the monitor is not 1080P capable then that would be your problem. You could attach to another monitor or HDTV and possibly turn down the resolution then try again.

Try setting your TV Input to AV. Are you sure that you have the audio and video cables connected properly? Video out to video in and audio out to audio in? It can be easy to get them reversed.

In the menu system there is a reset (I believe it's all reset, or reset all...something like that) which should fix the issue.If not, leave the TV unplugged for 4 hours and plug it back in then turn it on.

If this is an LED set I'd look at a backlight error, some lamps in the panel are bad and the power supply is shutting down the LED supply voltage because of over current or under voltage.

Considering you have been patiently waiting for almost two weeks, you probably have found a cure by now. If you have, please post it as a comment to help others.
If I had seen this before, I would have suggested pulling the AC plug overnight to see if it would reset itself; all modern sets are very complex making them prone to unintended actions of the kind we live with on our crummy PCs.

- Go down to Memory recall and press enter
- It will ask you "ARE YOU SURE"?

According to the manufacturer, to reset the entire unit do the following:
1. Press and hold "Menu" and "Channel +" on the TV. 2. Using other hand, press the power button. 3. A small screen should appear in the top left part of the screen. 4. Using the remote, select "Memory Recall" and select. 5. Power off and re-boot the computer 6. Run channel auto-scan to regain the picture.
