Bosch tankless GWH 2400 ELP in use 2-1/2 years. Whenever it is below freezing, we have problems with EC and/or EA errors, and no hot water. Sometimes restart will work. Bosch customer support is useless. I also thought of making a cover over the flue, in case problem was due to snow/ice/rain. Any ideas/suggestions?

I need more information, What is the incoming water temp. Do your have a water softner, What do the error code mean. example: low water pressure, scale build up, ignition failure, The codes should be available to you from Bosch. I'm a Rinnai tankless dealer and highly experience in repair, However I'm not familiar with their codes.

Yes, we do have well water. Although the unit is in a heated laundry room, the water pipe comes in through the cellar and directly up to the unit - probably only 36" total of "heated" pipe area). Thank you - I'll try heat tape. (My husband bought this unit - and I have refrained from saying anything derrogatory... you might have saved our marriage :) !)

How do i gas heater gwh 2400 ctd efs Lp

Stupid me but could you be a little bit literate in asking a question.

My dog write better questions that I can understand than this scribbling.

A GWH 2400 is the little brother of the GWH 2700 much like the 635ES. If you have an LP model be sure to use the overpressure protection valve supplied by Bosch as overpressure in LP (above 10-14" WC) can completely destroy this unit.

And you can use a TPR or PRV for 170,000+BTU being sure you get a House Pressure valve of 60-80-100 PSI+ and not the boiler PRV for 30 PSI

Beyond that your questions above states nothing recognizable as a technical question

I have a Bosch GWH 425 HNO propane Tankless Water Heater which began intermittently exploding when demand for hot water occurs.

Call a qualified service tech immediately.
Gas explosion indicates dirty combustion parts, and gas is not fully igniting when tankless turns on the gas. So gas builds up and then explodes causing serious damage to tankless, and serious risk to homeowner.

Bosch GWH 715 ES flashing EA code. This unit was working fine for over a year so I am assuming gas pressure can't be the problem? The spark is flashing and the unit lights for about 2 seconds then...

Above are the manuals required to diagnose and service your error code.

EA: No flame ionization detected with water flow.
Verify that all manual gas shut off valves are open. Check gas type. Reset error code and open a water tap to cycle the heater in an effort to purge air on new installations. Cycling hot water tap on and off multiple times may be necessary. If heater still faults with EA error code, have a licensed gas technician properly purge air out of the gas line leading to the water heater. Check three wire connections to ignition group on the lower front of the heat exchanger are secure. Check gas pressure. Check venting specifications are met. Improper venting may cause premature failure of the flame sensor rod. Check that the minimum power fan speed has been adjusted to the proper value. Observe inside the viewing window of the heat exchanger when a hot water tap is opened. Sparking should be followed by a steady blue flame. If flame is unstable or yellow with proper gas pressure.

I have a Bosch GWH 2400 CTD EFS NG tankless water heater. It has been installed on operating for over a year in the last several days it has an error code A3. The first two times I was able to reset it....

Call qualified service technician, and ask that person questions about maintenance and tips.
Then keep service technician number in rolodex-wallet.

Resourceful do-it-yourselfer will find following links handy.
Tankless are maintenance heavy, and Bosch and Rheem etc say to call service technician for recurring problems. Especially when short-hand troubleshoot section doesn't solve problem.
People spend years learning how to service tankless.

Bosch Pro tankless water heater overheating

The vent pipe you use is the correct size for the heater.Longer runs require bigger pipe.I also would check to see if the water is getting to hot.
