    1. Turn circuit breaker to dishwasher off immedeately. 2. comment back with full model and at least the first half of the serial number (from the sticker on the product, on or very near the door)

Remove the phillips head screws surounding the inside of the door and seperate the door. Your model used a black mastic sound / heat insulation, which has most likely gotten soft and allowed the wires to become imbedded in it. The outer insulation on the wires can then start to disolve and short out, resulting in your burning smell, or in the very least error codes showing up on the display. LG would tell you to replace the inner door liner and the wiring harness, which is fine if you have a service contract on it (because the parts are not cheap, and the labor to change them is a pain), but it you don't have a service contract, you can replace the bad wires by splicing them to bypass the bad area(s). Then, use a felt type insulation between the new wires and the old mastic to prevent the same thing from happening again. Newer model dishwashers no longer use the mastic insulation, opting for a felt insulating blaket instead. Note: Other brands of dishwashers have had similar issues.

How come it smoke smell like rages burning

Often times your engine , once overheated, will take time to return to normal....the high temps of your engine, will cause burnt odors due to old oil residues, anti freeze overflow etc..sometimes a simple engine cleansing will help to eliminate these odors..take care not to spill any liquids such as oil, antifreeze, power steering , brake or transmission fluids onto your engine....good luck

My car leaks antifreeze smokes when u turn it off but doesn't get hot

a simple pressure test will tell you where the leak is coming from. typically a car can nave very low anti-freeze and not over heat, the smoke that you are seeing is most likely anti-freeze that is getting on the engine or exhaust manifold and causing the leaking coolant to smoke ( burnt coolant will have a sweet odor). chances are that you have a loose or bad hose clamp or hose some place. However it is my opinion that you should start with a pressure test and isolate where the leak is coming from.

If you have a belt on this machine, I would change it. If the tub bearings are worn, then the motor will spin the belt faster then the tub/drum can turn causing burning. Worn pump or tub bearings can also cause this smell. Make sure pump is clean and tight.

Hard starting smoking when first started starter has to turn engine to long before starting

Give the engine a compression test and see if its down in comp if so then its either or all the below.or part of..
Engine bores worn/Piston rings worn/Valve seats and seals worn/Bearings Big End and Mains worn/ and if not worn could be Rings broken or stuck in ring groves. So do the test first
AS for the smoke when you first start up is due to..... when its been run and then stopped as cooling down the hot oil in the rocker covers and on the valves and springs ,,the hot oil runs down past the seals on the valves and when engine is turned over the oil is sucked into the bores and burnt ,,so causing BLUE smoke out the exhaust.
Let me know how you get on with it Ron

Dishes are still damp after cycle is complete. This causes a bad odor in the dishwasher.

Bad odor is caused by something besides wet dishes.

When the water finishes it's part and is exhausted, does a fan come on and run for a long time? If not, the drying fan is bad, usually mounted on the side and runs after all the water is removed. Also, after the water stops, are the dishes and inside HOT? You have to have HOT water to make a dishwasher function properly, will also take care of some of that odor. When a dishwasher cycles, it washes and then heats the inside of the washer, then it runs a fan to remove the water and dry the dishes.

Make sure your dishwasher is hooked to the HOT water line and also check to be sure it can heat it's own water, put it on pot's and pans and it should heat the water quite hot, even if it has hot water coming in, it will heat it up some more.

Burnt plastic smell coming from bottom of frig

This is a sign of a short and should be looked at immediately. A smell like that is a sign of something burning. I could be the start relay and start capacitor with overload. But I would not sleep with the possibility of a fire. I will look over your model and see if I can find what this could be, Sea Breeze

If this occurs during rain with air cond.on it is a result of moist air. If you live in a humid area you may also experience this if there is no odor like burning do not be alarmed. if there is a burnt smell to the smoke have it checked it could be a shorted wire in your dash and could be a danger to you and pssengres

Odor coming from inside washer

There is a tub beyond the tub you see. Run a load of water with chlorine bleach. This will kill the mold & mildew spores that are causing the odors. ****Do NOT add clothing to this washload****

If possible, keep the door open when not in use. This will allow the inside to dry and mold & mildew cannot grow.

Smoke pours from under the range top when a burner is on

[UPDATE} I gathered up the courage and left the element on for a while, carefully using aluminum foil in place of a drip pan. No bad smell. The initial odor was just the residual burning off of the last of the rust/dust. I was worried about directly contacting the hot element with the foil so I made sure it didn't directly touch the element but that was probably an unnecessary concern as aluminum foil has a very very high melting point
