Question about HP Photosmart C5180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

I recently installed a new Dell Optiplex 760 computer with Win7 prof. My C5180 works fine except that when I go to scan to my computer the screen comes up with "refer to device documentation to trouble shoot" I downloaded the manual it does not seem to help. With Win XP I had no problem. What do I do?

You need to download "Critial update" Then install it in computer.
You can get it from below link.
Click here

Click on above link and download critical update it need to install in win7 when there issue in scanning .

I want to scan a picture onto my laptop i connected the cables and evrything. ir prints fine. but it dosent want to scan and my printer is a dell 924


Did you install the full software (if available for your OS) before connecting the cables? Were you trying to launch the scan from the computer or the scanner? The scanner buttons will not work unless the full software is installed and the monitor program is running.

If you installed the generic OS driver, uninstall it and then unplug the data cable. Then download and install the software from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=1153481& . Select your OS and click Next then click on Drivers. Start scans from the computer first. (HP Solution Center has destination buttons that need to be set before the buttons on the scanner can work. Once you scan from the computer, you will have a better idea of the settings you should use as defaults for the buttons.)

Try connecting the printer directly to the computer, if you use a USB hub or print server. Also try a new USB cable. The scanner requires bi-directional communication and thus can fail even if the printer works. Your cable should be 6' or less in length.

WinXP, Vista and Win7 have options for scanning without the HP software. However, they do not work with the scanner buttons. Launch Paint (Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint) and select File > Import from Camera or Scanner > From Scanner in any of the listed OS versions. Vista and Win7 also include Windows Fax and Scan (New Scan). Vista has included Photo Gallery that also can acquire Scans (this is available for Win7 as part of the Windows Live package download).

When I try to install a usb camera on a Dell optiplex 760 I get 3 beeps and it won't recognise the camera


You need the installation driver software that should comes with it. If you dont have it download from the internet according the brand of your camera.

Dell Optiplex GX260 will not shut down.


Could possibly be virus/malware issue. Try running a full scan to see if anything is found.
