Microsoft expanded there warranty for 3 years.

"Once the call has been made, and the problem identified, an empty box is then sent out to gamers. The particular problem at hand will determine what all contents are shipped back to the repair center. Unless you are experiencing a problem with the hard drive of your console, all you typically send back is the system itself. Detach the hard drive, remove and store all discs, and keep all controllers and cords. There are warnings throughout the instruction page sent out that if you send in anything not needed, it might not be returned."

I have 3 flashing red lights on the console and a yellow light on the power supply

3 red flashing lights is known as the red ring of death. Your power supply showing a yellow light is ok, that just means that your power supply is on standby. The first thing you should do is check with microsoft to see if your unit is still under warranty with this site: http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xbox360/LiveIDSignIn.aspx?redirectUrl=http://support.xbox.com/support/en/us/xbox360/registerdevice.aspx?step=repair

If your unit is not under warranty, go to www.wiredextreme.com. We are a console repair company based in Texas, and we can fix your console. We give a free diagnoses on your unit(excluding shipping), and will call with an estimate before any work is done on the unit. All our work is covered by a 90 day warranty, and you can buy up to 4 years worth of warranty coverage.

It sounds as if your over heating there. There are multiple problems that can cause the RROD, but that's usually the one. It's not pretty, but it should help. Check out this page

Ring of death

You can try fixing it by taking out all of the plugs in youre xbox 360 and then plugging them back in but it very rarely works. But this happended to me and my problem was my hard drive wasnt in all the so that might be youre problem.but what my best sultion is just to call 0800 587 1102 for were to send youre xbox to get it fixed. It sucks that you have to send it away but it will be fixed it will take about two to three weeks to get fixed and sent back but it is worth it.

Everytime I try to turn my ps3 on, it beeps three times and then the red light will flash

Most likely it is a hard drive problem. I suggest calling sony and having them repair it, but if you want to try some things that might help you can try to take the harddrive out and start it then put the drive back in and if you can format the drive and it might help. I know how much of a hassle it is to send it in but thats the best way and for the cost it wouldnt be worth it to mess with it and void the warranty so you cant even have them fix it. I hope this helped some and hopfully you get it working.
