Florentino Kitchen Set F-031-4VAY 4-hole faucet. I'm experienceing an issue with the side sprayer having much less pressure than it did when it was installed about 6 months ago. I disconnected all the hoses and blew air through them, as well as the sprayer vale (in the head)but still no pressure, so I removed the diverter valve (three way) from the bottom of the spout stem. It seems to have some kind of small, hydro-pressure actuated valve in it that is preventing air going through either from the spray hose port or the spout port. Air moves freely between the H&C ports and the Spout port, but not from either into the sprayer port on the bottom. Should I remove this small internal valve? What can I do to get the original performance back?

You're right, of course. I removed the diverter, and compared it to a "universal" spray diverter part from Home Depot and they don't compare. Mine doesn't seem to have any position where water can move freely between the chamber and the hose. The little piston fits very tightly, and the actuator plug is rimmed by a rubber o-ring making a tight seal. Looks like a bad design. Maybe I should remove the o-ring?

Have you tried blowing air backwards through it? Where I live we have very hard water and often these types of things can be repaired by simply blowing backwards which dislodges the calcium blocking it.

Hello. In order to restore the original performance you will have to replace the diverter. If you remove the valve and don't replace it at all you will not be happy as you will always have water pouring out of the faucet while the sprayer is in use. Regards, Joe

American Standard Kitchen Faucet Low water flow

I had the same issue with an American Standard faucet that I installed new 6 months ago. The diverter can be the issue if you have a sprayer attachment. Try unscrewing the sprayer head from the hose it's attached to. Now run the water full pressure with the hose pointed into the sink, obviously :~). After running the water for about 1 minute, connect the sprayer head back onto the hose, make certain the flat rubber washer and ring gaskets are seated in their grooves properly, and tighten until you have no water leaking from the sprayer head/hose connection. Now try the water through the faucet. If the problem was a temporary diverter issue, your pressure should be fine now. Good luck

Kitchen faucet continues to run water when sprayer is in use

Did he replace it because the same thing was happening? (I am guessing yes). The problem isn't with the sprayer, but with the diverter. Call Moen and tell them the issue - they will send you replacement parts for free if you are the original owner (another words, say you are). Good luck!

No water flow in kitchen sink

Sorry to say, you will need to replace that faucet, and also when you are shopping for a replacement, inquire about a rosette to cover the hole left by the voided sprayer.
Good luck...

Faucet/sprayer coordination

If you have a Delta faucet your diverter may need to be replaced. The diveter is located under the spout (see diagram)(this is not your faucet but works the same)

Here are the instructions:

  1. Turn off water to faucet.
  2. Remove handle.
  3. Remove top cap.
  4. Turning spout back and forth gently lift and remove.
  5. Remove and replace diverter.
Hope this helps and please remember to rate this!
