I was jammin' some Zepplin the other day and all of a sudden ALL the speakers turned off... the cd player/radio was still working fine, and i can even still hear a little bass when i turn the volume way up. i just can't get any other sound to come out. I bought the car used so i don't have a manuel for the system, and all the fuses are fine... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated; i have a 2 hour commute 3 times a week, and desperately need some rock back in my life...

Yes you need to turn on the BOSE amplifier in the car to hear the sound. The wiring diagram is actually on top of the factory radio You will need a 12v trigger to turn the amp on. this is assuming you have all the speaker (inputs) connected to the output from your new deck.
try isolating the problem by inserting other sources such as tape deck, portable cd players, game consoles, if they work fine, test you ipod cable. next test you ipod on other audio in ports such as karaoke or other component stereos, ask a friend if he or she has one. test both, you may now have the idea where the trouble is.
yes, however you will need the dash kit (approx. $80.00) and modification of the braces inside the dash behind the "radio" In the taurus, the radio is actually located in the trunk. Only the dials are up front. Most installers will charge extra for this car's "extensive labor" but it can be done.
