I,m sorry but when i did the code i had it wrong it was 12 so there was know code it is ok code wise, But the color on the tv is like i said the parts that should be more red are not and there is a tint to the picture like it needs more red . If the tubes light up red, green and blue can you still need a tube or is it what you said ? joe

  • jojo1955 Feb 03, 2010

I HATE TO ASK YOU THIS IF THE COLOR BULB WAS BAD IT WOULD NOT LIGHT UP AT ALL ? IF THE PROBLEM IS WHAT YOU SAID THEN I WILL HAVE TO CALL A TV MAN BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE ANY TRAINING IN ELECTRONIC,S . THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP I DON,T KNOW WHAT WAS BETTER THIS PROBLEM OR A BULB REPLACEMENT . FOR A BULB THAT WOULD COST 300 JUST FOR THE BULB THAT I THINK I COULD HAVE CHANGED.

iHAVE A 2002 MITSUBISHI VS-60111 REAR PROJECTION TV THE PICTURE LOOKS LIKE IT LOST COLOR LIKE IT SHOULD BE MORE RED, BECAUSE IT LOOKS LITTLE BID LIGHT GRAY AND GREEN . I WATCH MY GIRLFIENDS TV AND HER DISH NETWORK SIGN IS ALOT MORE RED THAN MINE IS. WHAT DO YOU THINK IT WOULD BE THE COLOR WAS GREAT LAST WEEK. JOE

  • jojo1955 Feb 04, 2010

I tried your adjustment the red if i went to far would shut tv down so now i now that it is not the red crt or green or blue so now i got to find out why the color will not blend to giev me a clear picture in right color fashion. Thank You joe

  • jojo1955 Feb 04, 2010

I want to say that i think you are right on what you told me to do because some other guy told me on your site to adjust a little black box in front of the tv for the red color well i did and i went to red an the tv shut off so i put it back on and i got the colors close but i wished i would have left it alone . But it goes to show that there was enough red don,t you think. So i,m trying to find the convergence grid to see what you were talking about but i want to thank you even if i have to hire a tv guy i know i won,t get taken over because i have and idea now. joe

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have to replace the convergence IC and check power resistor for leakage, if values are not exact you have to replace them. The typical cost to get this fixed by a pro is about $300 - and it doesn't mean that he/they will do a job better than you do. The parts are less than $100 (about $20-$30 for the IC's) if you want to do it yourself. Replacing only the IC's MAY solve the problem; however, many people have also had blown resistors requiring replacement. Why would you ask should you replace both of the IC's if only one is shot?! If one is shot the other one is not far away and for that little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply Joe, the solution remain the same for your problem. Also please make sure to check for the CRT as it could leak and check for blown capacitors. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

    Thanks

Yes Joe you are right if its the color bulb then you'll not see any light may be try replacing the bulb first as you are the best judge. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Hi joe
You could try turning up the red screen control to see if that helps.
If you remove the front cover(usually at the front but may be at the back)
Look for a black block bolted to the frame with 6 controls on it, 3 of those controls are screen control and 3 are focus control.
Two controls for each red/green and blue tube
they will be indicated as screen and focus with r,g or b written on it
try to turn up the red screen slightly while the tv is on to see if that helps.

    Hi joe

This is the guy who told you about the screen control.

Should`ve told you that the tv would shutdown if you turn it too high, sorry about that , but don`t worry because all projection tv`s do that in that situation and it`s not damaging.

I should explain that the reason i asked you to try it in the first place is because you were talking about a lack of red, and i wasn`t sitting in front of your tv set to see for myself.

It was more like a test where you can get an idea at what might be the problem.

In any case if your problem is a lack of red, then your problem sure ain`t with the convergence(30 years of experience told me so).

    Good luck

most of the time the convergance ic go bad:
but try this:
The 3 flashes of the led when you plug the unit in is the
microprocessor initializing.

This unit has an error code diagnostics.

On the front panel of the unit press and hold the INPUT and MENU
buttons at the same time and hold them down for about 5 or 6 seconds.
The unit should activate it's error code mode.

The led will flash count the number of flashes. It will then pause for
1/2 or 1 second. The led will flash again count the number of flashes.
The unit will repeate this for about 5 or 6 times.

You now have the two digit error code. The first time the led flashed
is the first number of the error code, the next time the led flashed is
the last number of the error code.

12 ----------- indicates no error
21 ------------- X-Ray Protect circuit
22 ------------ Short Protect circuit
23 ------------- Horizontal Deflection failure
24 ------------- Vertical Deflection failure

Most units give a error code "22" short protect circuit. If so check:

Q5A00
C557

If Q5A00 check bad there are other parts that have to be checked or
replaced.

If you are able to do above call a tech to service the unit

Mitsubishi WS48413 makes a clicking sound and turns off right away

this is a V22 chassis circa 2003/2004
you could have an issue in 1 or multiple circuits. it is key if you can determine any error code. Error code is determined by blinking LEDs on front of unit after it shuts down. It will blink a certain number of times, pause then blink another certain number of times. It repeats this cycle 5 times.
12...no fault detected
21...X-Ray protect
22...short circuit protect

23...deflection circuit
Continuous flash...most likely DM circuit.

What does a blinking orange light on 65" Mitsubishi dlp rear projection TV mean?

Self Diagnostics

The V18 Chassis features Self Diagnostics to aid in troubleshooting problems that may cause the set to

automatically turn off or "shut down." The "Timer/Power ON LED" provides an indication of the sets operation,

and the possible cause of a malfunction.

1. Initial Control Circuitry Check

Immediately after the TV is connected to an AC power source:

• The LED flashes three times ... indicating the Microprocessor has initialized and is functioning

properly.

• If the LED does not flash ... the Microprocessor is NOT functioning.

2. Error Code Operational Check

To activate the Error Code Mode, while the set is OFF, press the front panel "INPUT" and "MENU" buttons

at the same time and hold for 5 seconds. The LED will flash denoting a two digit Error Code.

Note: The Front Panel buttons must be used, NOT those on the Remote Control.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2 second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the LSD (ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: For Error Code is "24", the LED will flash 2 times, pause, and then flash 4 times.

3. Error Codes

The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below:

"12" ... indicates no error has occurred.

"21" ... X-Ray Protect circuit.

"22" ... Short Protect circuit.

"23" ... Horizontal Deflection failure.

"24" ... Vertical Deflection failure.

The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below:

"12" ... indicates no error has occurred.

"21" ... X-Ray Protect circuit.

"22" ... Short Protect circuit.

"23" ... Horizontal Deflection failure.
"24" ... Vertical Deflection failure.

you will have to count the blinks, then there is a short pause and then following a second set of blinks this tells what is wrong with set.

Hi,
Most common problem in WS-55819 is failure of convergence output chips and blown pico fuses in power supply section.
You need to read out error code in tv, procedure is as follows:
Pressing the front panel "INPUT" and "MENU" buttons at the same time, and holding for 5 seconds,
activates the Error Code Mode. The LED flashes denoting a two digit Error Code, or indicating no problem has occurred since the last Initialization.
Note: The front panel buttons must used, NOT those on the Remote Control.
Example: If the Error Code is "24", the LED will flash two times, pause, and then flash four
times.
Error codes detail:
The Error Code designations indicating a malfunction, or no malfunction, are listed below:
"12" ... indicates no error has occurred.
"21" ... X-Ray Protect circuit.
"22" ... Short Protect circuit.
"23" ... Horizontal Deflection failure.
"24" ... Vertical Deflection failure.
This way you can determine what section got problem in tv and causing problem.
Let me know if you need further info.
Thanks.
