Dear, I had the same problem with my iPod. It's because (I guess) your modem/router has MAC adress filtering. You need to get your ipod full acces through you MAC filtering. To know your iPod's MAC adress, go to: Settings > General > Info > (scroll down) Wi-Fi Address. If you give me some more info 'bout your router/modem, I'll search some more info. Kind regards, FriskYR

How to Connect my Apple iPod Touch 8 GB to Internet

Apple iPod touch is a touch screen version of its popular iPod device, similar in appearance and function of the iPhone. Like the iPhone, iPod touch is able to access the Internet, although by different means. While the iPhone usually connect to the Internet via a wireless network operator's mobile data, the only way to connect to the Internet in an 8 GB iPod Touch is the device to use built-in wireless adapter.

1. Get references to a wireless network nearby, if you are not home or do not have access to a public network without a password. I just bought an ipod touch and I thought it was already set up for internet. How do I do that?

No, iPod touch have no way of connecting to the internet other than wifi (unlike iPhone that has 3G).
This means that there must be wifi signal around you before you can browse the web or receive email.

To check for available networks around you, on your iPod touch, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, then select the network that you want to use.

Often times, wifi networks are secured by a password, meaning, you need to ask permission to the owner of that signal to gain access. In a cefe for example, you can gain access to their secured network by simply asking the person in the counter.

Help!1my ipod touch will not connect to internet. yes i do have wirless internet obviously. when i go to setting and then go to wi-fi connnections is says that it is connected. then i go to the home page...

Try it with a different WiFi network, and see if it works. You'll probably find a bunch of unprotected WiFi networks as you walk down your street, or try it from the parking lot of an apartment complex.

If it does work, post back and let me know.

I just got my first iPOD and don't know how to activte the Safari network.Ho would I beable to downloadthe network onto my iPOD Touch?

Safari is the web browser on your iPod, not a network. You need to have a wifi connection to be able to access the internet, without wifi, you won't be able to connect to the Internet.

Wont let me get on the internet

First and foremost: are you in a WiFi area? The iPod touch can only access the internet when it's able to connect to a WiFi network. In order to browse availible networks where you are follow this: Click "Settings" Click "Wi-Fi" And under "Choose a network" it will come up with a list of networks you can access. Just click on one, hopefully yours!
And make sure that Wi-Fi's on/off button is switched to "On".

Can't get internet on mi ipod touch!

To watch videos online from Youtube from you iPod Touch, you must be connected to an active internet connection via wi-fi.
To connect to a wi-fi access hotspot, Go to Settings>Wi-Fi. Now, look under Choose a Network':
-If there is a connection showing, then touch the network name to connect to it. After, retry Youtube and your problem should be solved.
-If there aren't any connections showing, then you do not have a acess point nearby.
-If you do not have a acess point nearby, you can always setup one at your very own home with a router.

Ipod touch - wireless connect to my MSI RG54g2 router

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, to your queries:
 • instruction book - pls click here;
 • passwords - open a browser, the MSI RG54G2 web interface is 192.168.1.254, password is "admin", less the quotes;
 • iPod touch - will auto detect your MSI
 • setting on my router - if allows your computer(s) to access the Internet, no further settings required;
 • iPod can connect to the internet - if no WEP or WPA is set on the MSI router.
This is of course assuming that the MSI RG54G2 is allowing your computers to access the Internet lready and will be shared to the iPod Touch.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
