Hooking up cables and phone line to use the Fax on the P3150

During our last move we have been unable to locate the instructions for getting the phone line connected to use the fax portion on the printer. We are connected to Time Warner Cable and phone and do not know how to hook the phone line up to use the fax. We were told at the connection day that we would be able to use the fax and they can not tell us the problem. Hope you can help us with this one! Would love to get back to using the ring fax central!

Find a telephone wall-jack.
Buy a 1-to-2 telephone-splitter -- one end plugs into the wall-jack, and the other end provides 2 telephone-jacks.

Connect your telephone to one of those 2 jacks.
Connect your All-In-One to the other of those 2 jacks.
Be sure to use a 4-wire telephone-cable, not an 8-wire network-cable.

Can i fax using my cable modem without a phone line hooked up

You can not fax directly from you printer with out a phone line. However, there are a number of on-line fax services you can use. Just go to Google and type in "online fax", you will get a whole list of them. Some are free some are pay services. You will have to enter your information you want faxed on the page, so it is not as convenient as faxing directly.

Hope this helps.
