Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The clip that holds the cartridge wears out so that the cartridge is not held tight against the contacts at the back. You can't find a new carriage assembly, so what I've done to work for a while is slide a piece of paper behind the contacts in the carriage to push them toward the cartridge, you could also put a piece of tape on top of the cartridge before inserting to hold it toward the contacts.
