Yes. There's a blockage somewhere which is restricting the airflow. Follow instructions in the User Manual (you can download one from the Dyson website if necessary) for clearing blockages. Also make sure the washable filter is clean (and don't put it back until it's completely dry - at least 24 hours in a warm place). Good luck!

I have just renewed my filters on a dco7 allergy. One week later i have a loud whistling noise ,no loss of suction any ideas?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

A whistling noise could be caused by something very simple, such as a part or seal that's slightly out of position. We're happy to help you check for this and resolve it - we may be able to sort things out right over the phone.

When you have your DC07 Allergy to hand, please call the Dyson Customer Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Motor get hot and switches off

Have you washed the filters? Clogged filters are a common cause of overheating. When a machine gets too hot it will switch off to protect itself from permanent damage.

My DCO7 keeps cutting out, all filters are clean, it was my mother ln laws she gave it to me, I thought I could solve the problem, there is no suction from the hose, I am now frustrated. Regards steven...

The electric motor inside your Dyson has a built in over-current trip to protect itself (and you if it seriously overheated and caught fire). This normally automatically resets itself, however if the motor has just about had it, next time it is switched on it just trips again.

The primary cause of motors overheating is that the filters are not cleaned or replaced frequently enough. Dont be fooled by Dyson's "lifetime filters". They need to be regularly cleaned and replaced when necessary.

Replacement motors are available on eBay for about £25, however replacing one requires good DIY skills and tools.

Have a look at www.dysonmedic.com and see if you feel you can tackle it yourself. If not, take it to a repair shop or call the Dyson helpline.

It cannot be reset manually.

Dc07 cuts out

Hi!  This is the sign of a machine that is overheating, and almost certainly is caused by a partial blockage.  You need to check all the pipework and make sure the washable filter is clean (if you wash the filter, use only clean cold water, no detergent, and let it dry in a warm place for at least 12 hours, do not force-dry). I hope this helps.  I value your feedback, so please remember to rate this response. Good luck!

CUTTING OFF

Ok What is probably causing the problem is an internal error inside the vacuum. What I recomend you to do is take it back where you bought it and tell them what ever is wrong with it.
