Check the door switch under the cover: if bent straighten it, if broken amend.

I had the same "Door Open!" (won't print) symptom with my HP5650 printer. The door (printer lid) would not close all the way. I found that if I tapped or pushed lightly on the far right side of the lid, just about two inches forward of the right side hinge, the lid will snap into the fully seated 'door closed' position. If you look under the lid about this same position you will see the plastic triangle shaped 'tab that presses on the 'door closed' sensor lever.
In this model, the door switch cannot be bent (as suggested above) as it is only a plastic lever that interrupts a slotted optical photo detector on the other side of its pivot point. I hope this tip helps someone...

The motor runs but it only opens a few inches and slowly goes back down its a chamberlain whisper drive model HD900D

Hi. I have seen this before, although usually not from chamberlain garage door openers.

Pull the release cord that unlocks the door from the opener, and manually open the door ALL the way open.

Then lock back in place in the open position.

Then use automatic opener to shut door.

It will close very slowly, but should close all the way.

Then, open the door again using the remote, and the door will once again open slowly, this time it should open all the way.

Then close door with remote, and door should now close as it is supposed, with the proper speed.

The slow opening and shutting is the system position sensor resetting itself.

This is why your door is acting up.

I would also look up by the belt drive connects to the front of the garage door opening, to make sure there isn't any dirt, cobwebs, or other obstructions on the sensor that may cause it to re-close the way it does.

Won't print, orange triangle with exclamation point

This triangle light blinking indicates that a door is open. Open the front access door completely. Close the front access door completely. Open the rear door and close it.

If this didn't fix it refer to this guide for all errors you get with this printer from HP website.

Door starts to open/close only travels 8" then reverses/stops

The problem is most likely with the safety "eyes" sensors. Your system does not see them. Rather than opening even without sensing the safety "eyes" sensors like most older system do, this model apparently has a safety feature built in, that without proper communication between the safety "eyes" sensors and the main console, the door will not operate at all. Some people had reported that in a situations like yours, if they the button on the remote pressed, the door will open/close, though this is not recommended.

Garage door opener (chain) motor runs in reverse. Trolley slides forward trying to close door, even though it is closed, instead of sliding toward motor to open door. Happened out of the blue - was

Loosen the chain enough that you can remove it from the sprocket. Run the opener until the sprocket turns counterclockwise and stops. With the door in the open position replace the chain. You will probably need to adjust your open and close limits per your owners manual.
