Question about Toshiba Tecra A4 Notebook

Toshiba Tecra A4 notebook keeps on freezing after booting.

    I have not the time to go further.

    When i want to start on "safe mode" (F8), it goes on black screen and freeze on it.









    One thing i have not mentionned, is that when i start the computer, it goes on blue screen with this message:



    The integrity of your dik must be verified.

    Windows will verified the disk.



    When it's going trough, it is finding error and convert the folder in file.

    It boots on Windows and when i want to try any spyware or soft you mentionned, it freezes.





    I have tried to use the recovery disk, but it can not detect it.

    I will buy the recovery disk from Toshiba and try to start it from scratch as mentionned.

    Your help told me that it was caused by bad software because everything works when it's boots in "safe mode". Thanks.

Laptop freezes are attributed to a variety of reasons both hardware and software. So I am gonna suggest a few software related stuff and we will move on to hardware stuff if it doesn't work
1) To verify if this a driver related issue reboot the computer and keep pressing F8 till you see the advanced start up options. Choose safemode with networking from the list and hit enter. See if the problem persists
2)Malware. One of the most common reasons for freezing. Download this software called spybot search and destroy.

Scan for malware and fix anything it finds. The tracking cookies usually don't matter but the other stuff are dangerous. For best results run it in safemode
3) If Spybot search and destroy doesn't fix it download and install c-cleaner and run a registry scan and fix any registry related issues that it finds.

4)If none of this works download and install combo fix. It will automatically install the recovery console and solve most windows related problems.

If none of this works then let me know and we will move on to the hardware stuff.

    That definitely indicates a problem with your Disk. Verify the connectors are attached firmly to the disk. You have to take off the keyboard to find the disk. Remove the connectors and plug them again.I am afraid you have to recover your data using a tool like Data rescue PC. Download the demo from the link below burn the bootable ISO to a disc , reboot and scan your data. If its in good or excellent condition then you can recover it. Note that you will have to purchase it to recover data, the demo allows you only to scan.

    If you wish to avoid all this then simply format the drive and re-install the OS.

There could be many reason for this.
1st step: Check the CPU & Memory utilisation. for this you need to open task manager and check the same. Also check the no of processes and which is taking most of the resources.
2nd Step: Remove unwanted software loading while booting. for this run msconfig command in run menu and deselect the unwanted softwares in startup tab.
3rd Step: Need to run scandisk or chkdsk /f command in commandline to repair most of the HDD errors. Eg. chkdsk /f c:
4th Step: Also need to run defrag command.

Hope the above steps will resolve your problem.

If you press the F2 key when you start the laptop you may be able to enable the F12 and maybe the D2D option as well in the main menu of the bios then press F10 which is save and exit

this should enable the option to use the disks to recover

or

press the power up key as well as the 0 (zero ) key this may take you into the recovery option

Toshiba Tecra A4 version 1.70 has 'lost' 'Sonic' from 'all programs' so Now I can't burn DVDs.


I hope you made your restore disks for your laptop when you got it... You need to reload Sonic...

Tecra 8100 Freezes shortly after Windows comes up


Go into your hard disk utility and defragment your file. When the computer writes to your hard disk over time these files no longer are sequential as they were in the beginning. This is one solution, also you can do a disk recovery using your original disk or by pressing F10 as it boots up. Be sure and do a good check for viruses as well. The symptom you are describing sounds alot like a virus that is slowing your system down more and more. Good luck.

The inverter board on your laptop is failing. It is a board that changes DC to AC voltage, and powers the backlight. It needs to be replaced.
