Question about Fujitsu LIFEBOOK E2010 PC Notebook

1 Answer

I have a Fujitsu Lifebook E2010 with one 256 MB RAM module. When I try to upgrade to one (or two) 512 MB standard Kingston memory (266MHz Pc2100), the notebook won't boot, I only get 1-3-3-1 beeps which is memory error. When I install the old 256 MB module along with one of the new 512 MB modules, the notebook boots up normaly, but only recognizes 256 MB. I have tried all combinations, I even bought two new 512 MB modules, but only the original 256 MB Samsung module works. So now I have four 512 MB RAM modules that I can't use. Can anybody help me?

Thanks for answering. Yes the modules are the right type, although not from Fujitsu. One solution would of cause be to buy the original Fujitsu RAM - however, the E2010 specs indicates that I should be able to use standard 266MHz 200pin so-dimm RAM. I cannot find rest untill I know why it isn't so:-)

Hi,

This laptop has its own graphics card that doesn't rely on system memory for the graphics.

There should be no reason why its not detecting all 1GB of ram that you have installed.

Open the ram cover and make sure that you have clipped the ram into place properly.

Regards.

Upgrade RAM in a Latitude D600. one bay seems to fail

The memory bay is a part of the motherboard. Try each stick in each bay to make sure that the problem is the motherboard itself. Sometimes memory is incompatible with a particular laptop. Sometimes there is a maximum allowable memory. The maximum for your PC is 2 GB.

Wont start up after ram upgrade

Try reseating the memory and if that doesn’t work, install the 512’s one at a time to see if one might be defective. If the laptop still won’t turn on, reinstall original memory and see if laptop powers on.

UPGRADATION OF RAM

Dear Sanjaykpaul.

This has to be checked with existing ram in your note book, The same type may be added to make it 512 MB or can be replaced with a new with Higher capacity. The speed should match with existing Ram Chip Module.

Best Regards
