Question about Washing Machines
Ive just purchased a brand new Bush A126Q White Washing Machine from Argos, it was delivered only yesterday and last night i used it for the first time, great all done, the ''end of programme light'' came on so i opened the door and removed my washing. I did want to put another wash on but the ''end of programme light stayed on'' and has still stayed on ever since, even though i turned off and unplugged the power and then this morning left it turned on in hope that it would reset itself. But it will not let me override this, and so i cannot proceed with another cycle wash. I checked the manual and it did say that if this light does stay on then it may be something to do with the voltage but as the machine worked and washed my clothes and as my household was only rewired within the last 10 years i do not think it is anything to do with this. The only other thing is that in the manual (which i didn't read until afterwards) it does say before opening the door once cylce has finished turn the dial to 0, which i didn't do, but surely this simple thing would not cause so much problem. Ive called the helpline and they are saying as the machine is new they have no manuals to refer to, so an engineer will be sent out to me. I am astonished to think that a simple thing has caused a problem so soon on, especially as it worked perfectly well throughout the wash cycle. Any ideas?
Sorry Jo, I think I may have mis-understood your explanation - is there actually a problem with the machine functioning properly or is it simply that the end of cycle light will not turn off?
If it is the latter then simply turn the dial back to 0 before opening the door from the previous wash, this action tells the washing machine to reset itself as the drum is about to be emptied.
I have the exact machine however as it is graded, it didn't come with any manuals, at the end of the wash I just figured thta this was what I needed to do.
Its almost as if you need to double-declutch the washing machine - return the macine to 0 before selecting another cycle.
