I now use soft, filtered water each day. The "descale" message still comes up every 60 days. Is descaling that frequently, normal?

yes you will still need to descale it
soft filtered water still contains minerals and calcium but in lesser quantities
if you wish to avoid descaling use distilled water or demineralized water

Have you do it more than once? As per the instruction manual, you may need to do it again.

Breville making really loud noise when push espresso button

My machine started making a buzzing noise after the cleaning and descaling. It was still under warranty and I was planning to have it fixed by the manufacture but after a couple weeks of using it the noise stopped.

How to descale a breville one cup

NOTE: Not my instructions i just found something similar.

According to the instructions for Breville Hot Cup (presumably similar to yours - the adjustable flow one):
1. Fill it to the max and dispense one cup of water.
2. Add a citric based descaling product into the cup and stir.
3. Tip contents into kettle and close lid.
4. Dispense water from the kettle, discarding the water until it reaches the 'min' mark.
5. Empty remaining water into sink, rinse out with clean water.
6. Fill kettle with fresh water and dispense cups of water until it reaches the 'min' mark. Empty the rest into the sink, then refill ready for use.

Can I use vinegar to descale my Breville single cup coffeemaker?

White wine vinegar is a great descaler as it can dissolve the white deposits. For kettles, fill them up and leave them overnight. Don't boil it, though - the vinegar will froth up and go everywhere. Afterwards, rinse the kettle thoroughly, fill with water and boil before using it again. Malt vineger can also be used as the malt only adds flavor

Can't find my manual. How do I clean it?

http://www.scribd.com/doc/21061955/Breville-BKC700XL-Manual

Found your manual....Click or paste the above link to the site with it! If you cannot find what you are looking for inside manual, run down to the nearest home store or grocery and purchase descaling solution and follow directions for use from the back of the descaling container. Most machines require frequent descaling (once every 3 months) depending on your water quality. Hope this helps!
