- my external hard drive is not detected by my computer, i tried it in several other computers and in those which can detect it, it freezes when i try to open or scan it. It flashes both red and green lights. I have my thesis ( which is due soon) and several other important documents in it. Please help me.- mrichoBest Solution

Same problem here. If you can access the files at all i would try transferring them to another drive and either take the broken one somewhere to get fixed or try reformatting it yourself (which I'm trying to figure out how to do myself). Unfortunately I'm positive that any kind of permanent fix will rid the drive of all its contents, leaving you out of luck.
