Question about Bosch Classixx WVF 2402 Front Load Washer/Dryer

1 Answer

My Bosch Classixx washer dryer has stopped drying and the clothes come out steaming hot and steam escapes from the powder drawer during the drying cycle. I have had an engineer out and he says the airflow is fine and the pump, heater and fan are working. There doesn't appear to be a blockage in the condenser unit either - just a bit of fluff came out. He changed the thermostats yesterday but the same problem occurred and then the heater went off and on the next drying cycle the washing came out cold and still wet and there was alot of water on the floor around the machine. Any ideas please ?

If you have a very large load of clothes in the machine on the dry cycle, what tends to happen is that the clothes are not flapping around in the drum loosely but they are going around the drum in a big mass, with the result that they just get very very hot and steam will escape out the soapbox draw. When this happens, heater unit that becomes overheated ant the thermostats will eventualy cut out resulting in cold air being circulated instead of hot. You will need to have them replaced again. when replaced, put on a drycycle with only a few garments in the machine and you will see a big difference in it perfomance. washer/dryers are not very effective on the drying cycles with a full washload.

Ive just brought a re-conditioned bosch classixx washing machine,

boil wash the machine with old towels and powder, 90 degree wash will bring out the bleach in the powder and the old towels will throw the bleach around the tub removing the bacteria that has grown in the tub, the bacteria comes from the washing powder to eat the dirt in clothes and sometimes gets left in the tub and pipes (most people only wash at 40 degrees the bleach wont come out the powder until at least 60 degrees hence the build up and smell). you may have to do this twice to get it smelling good, remove the drawer also and clean off any bacteria with a cloth and spray bleach.

Hello, sounds like your cold water feed hose has got a kink in it. The machine needs cold water to condense the steam. Just pull out the machine and slowly slide back into place.

Does not heat

"Steam drying will get how but the air that comes later to actually dry is cold so the clothes never dry"

I am assuming "how" means hot in this sentence, if so, I think I can help! There is no "steam drying" phase for your dryer so what is probably happening is; the wet clothes are being heated properly [as a result causing steam] however if this steam does not escape frum the dryer it will simply condense back onto the clothing [leaving them moist/wet].
Check your flexible tube from the dryer and the vent on the outside of your home to make sure they are unobstructed. Hope this helps!

Bosch WVF 2402 Washer Drier Steam Problem

Hello All

Problem solved by clearing out the condensate container which on inspection was full of dried up fluff and dead tissues! This is not a ****that is mentioned in the manual and access to the bin is pretty tricky so I suspect there are lots of machines out there with the same problem waiting to happen.

Access was gained by taking the top of the machine off, removing the dryer motor and then scraping out the muck using a wire coathanger and a vacuum cleaner.

Many thanks

Steam coming out of washer drawer

This problem happened to us too, fortunately it's quite easy to repair. The problem may lie with the water inlet solenoid (rear of machine, top left under the top cover). The cold water inlet to condense the steam may not be working correctly and the steam comes out of the detergent drawer. Replace this solenoid (bank of three on the water inlet) and this should solve your problem.

Drying cycle

Is the drying fan rotating(you should hear this)? Or the watertap closed. It uses cold water to make the steam into condense. If tap is closed, the machine has no water to cool the steam with. Check lint filter.

Tumble dryer getting too hot

It sounds like your vent tube is blocked or kinked. Look at the back of your dryer and you will see that tube coming out. Make sure that it is not kinked. If it is, make it not so. You may have to pull out the dryer to make room. If that is not the case, check the following:
  1. Follow the tube to where it goes outside and make sure it is not blocked. Sometimes critters will build a home in the nice warm tube.
  2. Make sure your lint collect in the door is cleaned out.
One of these suggestions should do it.

Good Luck!
