The e511 error is to do with the PCU. Please see the following Epson knowledge base article.

My printer sends me this message E 511 service required what does this mean?

error E511 services required mean part of photosensor that is transfer belt is not being detected
1. power the printer off, wait for 30 sec, and then power it on.
2. remove the photoconductor unit
3. check and clean the photoconductor and transfer belt.
4. clean the TR0 sensor in the printer
5. resolve any toner spillage inside the printer
6. reinstall the photoconductor, close all the covers and then power the printer off and on

if it dosnt work

To check whether the problem is with the printer or the PCU, if possible either try another PCU in the printer, or test the PCU in another printer you know to be working.

I think I it should work.

Error 511 service required

You can try to clean the small silver square on the edge of the transfer belt and the sensor that looks at it, but usually it will require a new PCU to solve the issue. it is bettre if you show it to service centre.

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day.

Epson aculaser c1100 indicating E511 service req'd

Hi, at this point I would normally start by checking voltages at the TRO sensor, MCU board, and then swapping out the sensor and the MCU (engine) board, but these options are probably not available to yourself. I would recommend getting proffessional help from a local repair centre, but bear in mind that it may be more economical to simply replace the printer. Sorry cannot be of more help.

Changed the photoconductor unit on epson aculaser c1100

Hi, the E511 is caused by the printer not "sensing" rotation of the PCU drum & transfer belt (TRO Sensor error). It could be the PCU was faulty. First thing to try is to open the top cover and remove the PCU. Be careful not to expose the drum to bright light, avoid touching it if possible and be very careful not to scratch it. Using thumb pressure at the edges of the drum check it rotates. On the underside of the PCU is a little cut-out window, rotate the transfer belt until you see a little silver square appear. Give this a good clean with a soft cloth. Inside the printer you will see a little sensor sticking up (TRO Sensor) that aligns with this cut-out, give this a clean too. Hopefully your problem is now fixed.

Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.

You need to remove the cyan cartridge, and thoroughly clean the inside of the printer (please use proper printer cleaning kit, not a damp cloth!). The sensors can get crudded up with loose toner inside the machine.

Yes, they do make this model, I'm using one now. I had the same problem

The solution for me was to clean inside of printer thoroughly, with the C (or whatever) cartridge removed. The sensors get dirty.
