Question about Smeg 27 in. SPV577X.1 Gas Cooktop
I think there is a problem with the mercury fillament. there is a mercury filled nipple next to the flame, if this cools down and the mercury contracts the gas shuts off. this is to prevent the gas from flowing if the flame isn't lit. i have the same problem myself as well as one of the ignitions doesn't work. i beleive the cooker hood will hinge up giving access to the parts beneath althoguh i'm not sure what to do when i get under there, i'm pretty sure this is how to go about it. hope this helps
