Buy yourself a Vivitar 283 or 285 on ebay. They are also available in used camera stores. These are very reliable strobes. Shouldn't cost more than $50.00.

Good luck.

I would let you try and help but i don't think i should have to pay.

As long as you post in the free area, as you did with this, you don't have to pay. However, if you want to ask a question, you have to ask. We can't help you if you don't ask.

My Nikon Coolpix s230 flash won't work. It just blinks red in the lower right hand corner. I've tried all the settings and they all won't flash.

If there is a problem with the flash itself or the mainboard connection to the flash it will not charge. If the flash won't charge then it won't go off when you take a picture. The only way to fix the problem is to replace the flash with a good used one and see if that fixes it. If not, then you need to replace the mainboard. Good used parts can usually be found online for cheap; that auction website doesn't pay me to type their name, so I don't, sorry. Hope this helps!

How to delete a email account

Is Hotmail acting up for you too?
Google "Is Hotmail down?" and see how many others share the same joy.

You can't delete it per se.
All you can do is close it, so all email will bounce back.
If you don't access it for 240 days, it gets deleted.
.............................................................................

Depending on the provider, if you don't access your account for whatever period they specify, they will close it and delete it after some extra time.

You can Google for a specific answer and instructions.

Hi I have a k10d and am having problems in low light [dance Ballroom] not getting a good picture . I have the iso at 1600 [max] and still get blur

You did not mention what lens you are using or at what F-Stop you were shooting at. You will need one of 3 things to get good pictures under those conditions...

1- A good flash that you can use with a diffuser or bounce the flash off the ceiling/walls. or 2- A "fast" lens, one with a f-stop rating of around F1.4 of F1.8 or better. or 3- A tripod to eliminate camera shake, this will not eliminate blur from your subjects moving.
or a combination of the three.
You are on the right track shooting at 1600 iso if you don't want to use a flash just make sure you are shooting at the lowest F-Stop you can.

I need an external flash for my Minolta Dimage 7i

Having researched the internet - I've found a Minolta branded flashgun suitable for your camera. It has the bounce flash you ask for, however it's not cheap.

Here's the link:

Canon 40D

Hey D1ppy,
There are two ways to get rid of shadows behind a subject, but both require you to use a hotshoe mounted flash. The first way is to bounce the light off a ceiling or some other white surface by turning the flash head towards that surface instead of your subject. The second way would be to connect the flash to the camera using a off camera flash cord and hold the flash above your head when your taking the picture, and by doing this you are able to aim where the shadows show up in the image. Bounced flash is what is called soft light and generally is more pleasing light. I of course am assuming the shadows are caused by the built in flash on the camera. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Help!!!

The best way to avoid red-eye is to have the flash as far away from the lens as possible. If you can mount an external flash onto the flash bracket, use that instead of a built-in or pop-up flash. Similarly, you can use bounce mode to make the light fall on the subject at a different angle/direction from the lens.

Bad focus when tacking pictures

I had the same problem and disabled the hand grip and full time autofocus. Works perfect now. I must have been doing something wrong with the hand grip in the act of shooting. In fact I sent mine back to the factory and it still wouldn't auto focus. It was my problem. I feel like a slice of cheese for sending it back.

Help, White spots on photos with W1

Could be dust reflecting the flash. Water droplets also do it. Here's an example from an indoor trials where they had little RC cars on a dirt track next to the trials. The RC cars kicked up dust. The flash just bounced off the particles. This is an 828 with a Metz flash with a pocket bounce/diffuser on top. With the smaller camera with the flash more on axis of the lens the effect will be more pronounced since closer dust particles will be illuminated.

Could I use my Canon bounce flash (550EX) with this Olympus Digital camera?

That's not possible because the hot shoe is not provided for the Canon hot shoe. You can change some wires in the Canon flasunit to let it think is an Olympus model ;)

Rob
