Do u add something to end of yellow cable it looks like an areial

if it is an aerial it will be a set length as the length is a division of the frequency wave length
altering the aerial will not improve response

Digital TV problems

You are suffering from a poor signal. Digital TVs will display 'blocking' (partial freezing of the picture in square or rectangular blocks) or total freezing of the picture, when the signal is too weak.

You don't say if this is a recent problem on a set that has been working correctly - that info. would be helpful. However, things to check include:

Has the aerial moved (wind?)
Are you using a new extension coax cable? If so try another one, as connections may be faulty.
If this a new TV, and you have not used digital previously, your aerial may not be high enough gain for a digital signal, but that is unlikely unless it's a nery old aerial.

My Raystar 120 GPS keeps losing its fix.... the fix comes b ack a few minutes later, but then i lose it again. I have tried a cold restart, but the problem persists. Ideas?

Guys, most likely the litium battery is eol. Buy a new litium 3 volts battery for 3-4 euro's with soldering points . Use a pair of scissors, note the plus and minus side of the poles and carefully cut out the battery leaving enough metal to solder a replacement battery. Solder the replacement battery, and the problem is fixed. You're ready for another 6 years of fun saving 300 USD for a new GPS!

My aerial has had the plug pulled off and I want to fix it. Do you have a wiring diagram or can you tell me which pins go where Thanks Chris

Repairing MMMC or MMX plugs is no guarantee that they will work. Often when these plugs are ripped out there is other damage. it is such a minute area of solder you would need a special spot solder unit ($6000) as this is what is used to integrate components onto the board.
I repair GPS for a living but to fix this it is easier to change the whole board than to try and fiddle around with this.

Not charging.

I removed the plate cover on the aerial, then slid the hinge pin to the right to release the aerial holder then removed the two fixing screws from the top of the unit that had been obscured by the aerial receiver. I then removed the PCB fixing screw to access the PCB & re-soldered the mini-USB plug to the outside rail.I did get side tracked after that so will re-assemble today. Wonderring which is the best method of aligning tapes from touch screen to PCB as you would be aware there is not much length.

Connection problems with Philips DTR220

There is such a thing as a HD areial, but in this case it sounds like you need to point the antenna in the right direction. If your freeview is digital then there is a diredtion the areial needs to piont, and there is a front and a back to it. You need to find where the signal source is located and point the areial in that direction.

Setting up my freeview box- NO CHANNELS FOUND

Hi.

The cable & wireless system is not capable of picking up the digital freeview frequencies.
Idealy you need to put a new aerial on the roof,
If this is not possible try an indoor aerial that you to plug in to the mains electrical supply.

Garmin Quest GPS problem

Hello,

I got the exact same problem and I solved it. The problem was a bad contact between the flipping antenna and the unit.
On the back of the unit, removed the two screws on the right side, beside the flipping antenna.
Take care there is a spring that can fly away.
Remove the part that was holded by the screws.
Removed the flipping antenna (pull on right slowly).
On the antenna connector on the unit, there is a ring. That ring was loose.
Tight it.
Put every thing back.

It solve the problem on my Quest 2.

Snowy picture, no reception?

Hi, Your question "Do bigger TV's need an aerial booster or something?" - No, normally it should work straight out. Boosters are used for fringe location not bigger TV. Pls a questions and some ideas: 1. "TV worked fine the night before" was it hooked up to Cable or aerial? 2. If cable, it is necessary that you change the settings of the TV from cable to STD or Air or something like that. Normally this can be done via the remote, menu, setting, set-up; 3. If aerial, you would probably need the assistance of a qualified service personnel. Apparently something got loose inside the Philips TV, not a big problem because you can still receive (BBC 1) but not the other channels, possibly a loose wiring, a disconnected connector. 4. If you feel comfortable working on it yourself, unplug the tv and the aerial, open the back and poke around. Trace from the aerial jack, the lead wires used, the connector to the main circuitry. Wiggle the wires a bit for any loose connection. 5. If #4 is not to your liking or if you do not find anything or no significant improvement after closing it up and running it again, guess you're back to #3. Hope this gives you some idea. Lots of luck and kind regards from the Philippines.
