Judie,

Have you tried running a firmware update for the particular modem? Perhaps since the time you have received the modem to now that there has been an update/number of updates for the particular device. This does often improve situations in connecting & staying connected.

Another possibility could be the power adapter could be failing, in which case see if you can obtain one for test use. If it improves your situation offer to purchase the adapter for market value.

See how that goes.

I forgot my password


Reset the modem by removing the power cable from the back of the modem for a full 30 seconds and plugging it back in.


This is sometimes referred to as "power cycling" the modem, and is a good way of clearing network timeouts and other problems that can appear on modems that have been running continuously for some time.


Reset the modem by unplugging the power cord from the electrical outlet or surge protector into which it is plugged.


This is a good alternative to removing the power cord from the back of the modem if it is difficult to get to the modem because of its physical location. Count the full 30 seconds and plug the modem back in to complete the reset.


Reset the modem by pressing the reset button the back of the modem.

The button itself is recessed into a hole to prevent accidental resetting, so you will need a pen or some similar thin utensil that can fit inside the hole.


Press the pen into the hole until you feel the button depress and then let go.

This is sometimes called a "hard reset" or "hard reboot," as this will restore the modem to its factory default settings

How do i reset the password in the att mstatea modem


Hello,

The modem should have a small reset button on its back, bottom or possibly on the side, you need to press this button with a paper clip or similar, hold it down around 5 to 30 seconds.

This will reset the modem to factory defaults, but I'm not sure about the time required to press the button, begin with holding it down for 5 seconds, after that 10, 15 and 30. it should reset.

Default username and password for logging in read in the user manual.

I try 2 plug my modem up 2 my ps3 but the ip address timed out wat do i do


After you have the Ethernet cable from your modem plugged into your PS3 press and hold the reset button on the back of the modem for about 5-10 seconds. This will reset the modem so that it will recognize the connect to your PS3. Once your done using your PS3 and reconnect the Ethernet cable back to your computer you will have to reset the modem again. Any time you move the Ethernet cable from one device to another you need to reset it after you have the cable connected to what ever device you want to get online with at that time. If you do not want to keep resetting your modem all the time a router will allow for you to have more then one device online at a time. The router will connect to your modem and then your devices will connect to your router.

Once it restarted, you can release the reset button and wait for the lights to come up. Since you did the hard reset. You need to configure the modem with your username and password from your ISP.
You need to access the gui or firmware of your modem. If it ask for username and password. This is the time you need to contact your ISP. They will help you to configure the modem. Once they provided you the username and password ofr your modem. Write it down so you will have a copy and in case it happen again you know what to do. Username and password for the modem is different from the username and password for your internet. You also need to enter the username and password for the internet so you can use the internet. If you get a red light for the internet, that means the username and password is incorrect.
If this didnt work. You need to replace your modem.

My comcast modem's internet connection just died a while ago the only light that is on is the power light, and i have rebooted the modem already. how can i fix this?
