I have an Oldsmobile Cutlass 1999. My cd player keeps skipping and/or ejecting cds (and not taking cds). How can I fix this?

Use your computer , and type in "radio repair".
It may take you a while, but there are companies that repair radios. You remove it from the car, send it to them, and they will fix it for you.
God bless your efforts.

Hi my cd player in my new beetle . when i play a cd it pauses between tracks instead of playing continuously as the cd was designed to do

It is most likely an anti-skip feature built into the radio. Many radios have this option and they pause for a moment and build up a bit of the song into the internal memory(up to 60 seconds), and this internal memory helps keep your CD from skipping.

CD skipping with the bass

Has it always done this, or is this a new problem? If this is a new problem you may need the unit serviced. It may need the lens cleaned, or laser replaced. If the laser is getting weaker it can do that. They also have these small oil filled dampers used like shock absorbers. If one of those is torn and has leaked a little oil out it will skip much easier. They also use springs to support the cd mech, if a spring has streched out or come loose, that can also make it skip on big bass hits.
You can always try putting some foam or something around the radio to help keep those heavy bass hits from vibrating the radio. But then the radio may get too hot.
Make sure the radio is very secure in the dash.
If this problem has been going on since you installed the radio, you have an installation problem. The radio is a little loose and prone to move around a little.
