Please change your cartridge. If not works better to change the printer instead of printing head.

    Further please let me know.

    Thanks for joining Fixya.

    Have a nice day.

HOW CAN i CLEAN THE HEADS AND RESET THE NOZZLES.

How to Clean Print Heads

Method 1 of 5: Self Clean Program for Windows XP/Vista Users

1 Open the control panel menu and select "printers."
2.Choose the printer to be cleaned and right click. Select "properties" in the drop-down menu.
3. Choose the tab for cleaning. Various printers might have it listed under different names such as services, cleaning or maintenance.
4. Select the nozzles that should be cleaned, if applicable to your printer, and run the printer's cleaning program.
5. Print a test page and check results. Repeat cleaning 2 to 3 times if needed.

Method 2 of 5: Self Clean Program for MAC Users

1.
Click on "system preferences" and select "open print and fax."
2. Choose the printer that needs to be cleaned and open "Open Print Queue" or "Print Queue."
3. Click the utility icon for the applicable printer and select "maintenance." Select "cleaning" from the pop-up menu and click "OK." You might have to choose the tank you want to have cleaned.
4. Run the head cleaning program and print out a test page. Repeat cleaning 2 to 3 times if needed.

Method 3 of 5: Manual Cleaning
1.
Check your printer's owner manual for the location of your print head. Refer to the directions below if the head is in the printer and not part of the individual ink cartridges.
2. Remove the ink cartridges and dab hot water or isopropyl alcohol onto a cotton swab.
3.
Rub the swab against the print head to loosen dried ink. You can also use a dropper to drip 7 to 10 drops of the isopropyl alcohol into the ink receptacle if your print head is deep in the printer.
4. Run the printer's own cleaning program 2 times and then let the printer sit overnight. Repeat the self-cleaning utility the next day.

Method 4 of 5: Cartridge With Print Head
  1. 1Soak the ink cartridge in a bowl of hot water overnight if your print head is inside the cartridge.
  2. 2Remove the cartridge from the water and dry it thoroughly with a paper towel.Put it back into the printer and run the cleaning program. Repeat 1 time if it does not work.
  3. 3Place the ink cartridge into a bowl of isopropyl alcohol and let it soak overnight if the hot water soak did not work.
  4. 4Remove the cartridge and wipe it off with a damp towel before drying it.Attempt the self-cleaning program again. If it does not work this time, you probably need a new cartridge
Method 5 of 5: The Vacuum method

  1. 1I replicated the way the printers themselves try tho clean the cartridges
  2. 2Using a Vacuum cleaner hose
  3. 3attach the printer cartridge to the vacuum cleaner hose with the cartridge upright, nozzle down using plasticine or blu-tack
  4. 4for no more than a few seconds at a time turn on the suction , regulate using the suction or curtains regulator on the vacuum cleaner.
  5. 5Repeat if necessary
  6. 6if the print cartridge is cleaned , ink will be visible , if its a multicolour cartridge the resultant ink will be black if all 3 jets are clean
  7. 7wipe off the residue ink with tissue or toilet roll .
  8. 8Refit & print test page as per other comments .
  9. 9This definitely worked for me and has no know side effects apart from the odd inky finger !
Tips
  • Print a page every 2 weeks or so and turn off your printer when it's not in use to keep the print heads from clogging.

My Cannon i860 is blinking an amber light five times and then returns to green then blinks amber five times and so on. What is this error telling me?

I too went through all the cleaning processes on my i860 with its amber light blinking five times to one of green. After all that time and effort, I ordered a new head, replaced it, put the old ink carts back in, and presto, worked like a charm. Don't waste time and money doing anything else.

Page is printing, but nothing on the page, blank

1. Clean your print head using denatured alcohol solvent which can be purchased from most hardware stores. If unavailable, use 91% Alcohol (isopropyl alcohol (first aid antiseptic) which is available for less than a dollar at most Walmart pharmacy departments.

*Warning: You may want to use a pair of latex exam gloves as this is a messy process and can stain your fingers.
Time necessary 45-50 minutes
Supplies needed:
Isopropyl Alcohol or denatured alcohol
paper towels
latex gloves
sink, bowls and or basin
can of compressed air
very small screw driver
tablespoon or baby bulb type syringe
warm water

PROCEDURE:
1. Lift print head from printer. It pulls out easily because it is held in with the same down lever that holds the cartridge in place.
2. Put two layers of paper towels in the bottom of a dish to protect sensitive sprayer heads.
3. Put enough solvent in dish to cover the screens on which the cartridges sit when in use.
4. Take the two small screws out that hold the white ceramic piece
5. Gently, pry the ceramic piece back and away , to reveal the underside (No need to pull away the glued points on the sides.)
6. Gently, move head up and down to slosh solvent around it the best as you can. Use a table spoon or syringe to pour solvent over all orifices in the print head, turning it upside down and then back a few times.
7. Use canned air with a plastic straw to blow into and through all orifices, alternately sloshing/swishing and pouring solvent over head (be careful not to touch any of the holes, screens, or sprayer heads with anything)
8. Empty dirty solvent from bowl and replace with paper towels and clean solvent. Soak for approx 10 minutes. Rinse again with clean solvent poured directly on all parts, letting solvent overrun and fall into dish or basin.
9. Gently shake the solvent off the head, take it outside and spray with compressed air into all orifices to clear out and help evaporate any remaining solvent. Let sit on a clean paper towel for approx 20 minutes. (There may be a little ink bleeding out of the head, but once it dries completely it does not present any problems.
10. Reinstall head, cartridges and it will print like a new printer.

SUGGESTION: For many years of problem free printing, keep a double set of ink cartridges, one set full at all times. Whenever a cartridge runs out of ink, replace it IMMEDIATELY, with a new one or a refilled one. This gives the print head no chance to dry out and create clogged heads. Routine maintenance of cleaning the heads every 24 months does wonders for keeping your printer in new condition.

Hope this helps. .

I have an error that says "remove and check color cartridge". I have replaced it and still get the error. what can I do?

Sometimes this issue occurs if the print head contacts are bit dirty.
First take the printer cartridges out, clean the shiney copper looking plate on the print head located at the back of the ink carriage in the printer, then wipe it dry with a lint free cloth. i suggest doing it a couple of times.
then reinsert the print cartridges, do a test page and/or a clean cartridges page, and see if it clears up.....

Yellow cartridge stopped workin halfway through a document although nearly full

Hi, one or two head cleans won't clear a badly clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:

Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning".
Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink have some new ones ready. Hope this helps.

Remove and check color cartridge

Dear customer,
We have found that sometimes the print head contacts can get a bit dirty or glazed.
SUGGESTION 1:    Take the printer cartridges out, and using a quetip and some 91% isopropyl alcohol, clean the shiney copper looking plate on the print head located at the back of the ink carriage in the printer, then wipe it dry with a lint free cloth. i suggest doing it a couple of times. Then reinsert the print cartridges, do a test page and/or a clean cartridges page, and see if it clears up.
i suggest to clean cartridges first, then a test page, may as well cover the whole enchilada. If it does, perfect, if it still does the samo as before, the printer is defective. If it is only three months old, it probably is still under warranty.

SUGGESTION 2:      Try removing the ink cartridge and using a lint free cloth to wipe down both the the contacts on the print cartridge and on the printer. also try unplugging the printer, and holding down #6 then while holding it down, plug the in the power. this will do a partial reset of the printer. If that does not work then try another ink cartridge. if that does not solve the issue. you printer's internal sensor has failed and it would be cheeper to upgradr then to fix it. If you reach this step, try calling into hp tech support and ask if there is an upgrade available for your printer.

Plz rate this solution.. thank u...

I replaced both ink cartridges for the printer, won' print.

Please follow the procedure your printer has which forces it printer to clean the print heads.
I have experience of other epson stylus models.  I have previously spoken to epson about this exact problem.  Repeating the head cleaning process a minimum 5 times cleared the problem.
Running head clean multiple times in succession builds up pressure in the print heads - causing (usually new) cartridges to work correctly.
kind regards

CANON BJC-85 Won't print black...

Turn on printer, press cartridge button, remove cartridge. On left side of remaining cradle, unsnap the cradle, lift up and remove. Take the cradle to your sink, wet a paper towel, and GENTLY wipe the long print head with the wet paper towel. Then run a small stream of clear cool water through the cradle, from the round pad that your cartridge rests on, until the pad looks ink-free. Dry everything with tissues and a hair dryer set on low, replace cradle in printer, replace cartridge, turn on printer, press Resume until it beeps three times, which runs the deep cleaning program, and after the procedure is finished, your printer will print as new.
