Question about Brother MFC 7840W Printer

Documents are smudged on brother mfc-7840w

When I print the documents come out smudged. It doesn't happen when I copy or received a fax. There are no error messages.

Brother mfc-7840w won't receive fax


The first thing that I would try multiple people to ask them to fax you.Sometimes the 2 machines don't "sync".This is a toll free fax test number that I always use to check my machines..1-888-473-2963.Just write the words "FAX TEST" in large letters on a blank sheet of paper..fax it to that number...leave the line open...you should get a fax back in about a minute.If you get a fax back...your machine is fine...let me know if this was helpful....thanks.

My MFC-7840W printer is not printing from a file, however it does print out faxes that come through the system


You may want to reload the driver that came with the printer or download the latest one from the vendor. When receiving faxes it is not using the driver from the vendor. It also could be a connectivity issue.

Hi there!
You can check if the usb cable is connected directly & securely from printer to your computer. Once it's verified. The display of your printer should show the date/time.
Since the printer is displaying offline you can open Control Panel, go to Printers folder right click on the printer icon and select 'Use printer online' If you have pending documents right click on the printer icon and click on cancel documents.
Try checking for a duplicate copy of your printer driver or check which printer driver is selected as the default and has the status ready.
Right click on the printer driver that has a Ready status click on printing preferences and click on print a test page.

Yes. The drum is most likely your problem. It is possible that it is a one time problem, which can occur if you print a very dark black page or image followed by a light gray page or image. If it has only happened once or twice try printing a different document to check it. If it is happening repeatedly, then you should replace the drum and instantly see it fixed. You can get a drum anywhere that supplies toner.

As its new its got to be either a fault or a printer setting.
Soooooooooooo, I'd go through the printer settings, see if there's anything which divides a page as such. Assuming no, its time to get on to Brother or you vendor. Its new so you don't want to start messing about with it, that may void any warranty.

Ask your vendor to demonstrate to your satisfaction or talk to brother via their web site / contact us.

Print not working on my brother MFC-665CW


Do you have several attempts showing in your print que? Go to control panel, then printers, the double click on your Brother printer icon. See if there are documents stacked up. If they are, Windows will not send anything to the printer until all documents are printed in order. I hope this fixes your problem. Thanks for using Fixya.com
