    actually this is not just the regular loss of picture "blue screen". You do not have any control nor do you have any character generation on the screen.

    thanks anyway.

    P.s. the company's service department said that the problem is the main board which cost 368.00.

    same problem after some really wierd issues of color, sound, and generally tv having a mind of its own.  where can I get one of these boards?  is it worth the 370 plus shipping or will this just happen again in another year?  If so, might be better to put money in a new TV?  I hate to waste the resources and not fix this one, but also don't want to do something foolish.  I sounds as if this is a common problem with this model/brand.  Is it likely to happen again with the new board?  Design flaw???

A blue screen is indicative of a "Video Mute" condition. This is triggered in the absence of a signal coming into the TV. Try to check your signal source which could be:
1. aerial antenna - might need reorienting;
2. cable - loose connection or perhaps you can call the attention of your cable provider;
3. external such as DVD or VCR - try to check for any loose or defective yellow RCA cable. In some instances, the DVD or VCR might not be reading the medium (disc or tape) and would require cleaning.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

    Hi again,

    I understand and appreciate the update/information.

    Most in-house and/or official Service Centers would opt for board replacement rather than component level repair to cut turn around or the time required to repair hence the 368.00 quote.

    Most of us working independently could go either way and I would suggest your friendly neighborhood service shop or a qualified professional willing to do component level diagnosis and repair. Cost might not be that high but repair time might be a tad longer.

You may be aware that Olevia is bankrupt and apparently Emerson bought the leftovers and is offering service but no parts sales.
I found this thread discussing antoher model's various problems but I believe your power supply has likely failed.

If it is the type of failure related to the switched-mode power supply, these can be repaired by a properly equipped tech; I've done hundreds of them while still in business (which I am no longer).

My em228 flashes blue red why?

It is NOT the battery. When you turned the bluetooth on, only hold the power button until the blue light flashes about 3 times. If blue tooth is enabled on your phone, this should allow the bluetooth to connect without having to search for any devices, that is, if you already have it in your settings.

The red and blue alternating lights are to setup the bluetooth and allow it to connect to your phone, THE FIRST TIME. Once the device is listed in the bluetooth settings on the phone, you can just connect, instead of searching for the device every time you need to turn it on.

Only hold the button until the bluetooth flashes BLUE, about 3 flashes........see if this works better for you.....

Another frustration, (sometimes) depends on what brand of phone you have. I know my EM227 connects differently between my DG Razr and my Samsung Eternity.

Let me know if this helps, and if not, let me know what phone you have, and I will tell you for sure, exactly how to turn on and connect, with no problems.

Good luck~~!

The blue power button is on but there is no picture??

The blue power button goes on when the screen is OFF. It just tells you that the unit is receiving power. It goes off when you turn the tv on.
