Question about Canon SELPHY CP710 Thermal Photo Printer

Easy PhotoPrint doesn't acknowledge printer in

Canon Easy PhotoPrint doesn't acknowledge presence of Canon Selphy 710 printer in Vista 64-bit OS. 64-bit drivers are installed and Vista does see printer and prints test page. I receive Error Message in EasyPrint of "No supported printer found. Connect a printer supported by this software. Exiting Easy-PhotoPrint." Software was written for older versions of Windows OSs. Is there a work-around solution.

    Sir,

The Windows Vista 6-bit OS sees the printer and will print a test page to it. But when trying to run Easy Print, the software asks user to turn on printer and connect via USB port. I have tried removing the software and reinstalling it, along with the Version 1.1 for Vista/Win 7. I've also deleted the printer and reinstalled drivers. Same results. Any other recommendations?

    Regards,

    Roger

Have uninstalled all software, but kept the Vista 64-bit driver to CLP710 printer. A previous recommendation was to use ZoomBrowser to print photos, but that requires a CD disk with a previous version of ZoomBrowser. My CD is Version 5.0 which does not have that software within. Awaiting further guidance.

    Thanks, Roger Heberlein

Canon could do a better job explaining what software goes with what, in my opinion. Apparently, once you get to the Vista level, besides the print driver (which you probably already have), it appears you need Canon ZoomBrowser EX to work with and print your photos (in place of Easy PhotoPrint).

In the following link (you may need to allow pop-ups for the Canon site), select Vista x64 in the drop-down box. Listed are the available downloads for your printer model and OS.

Note: "CP710_64.exe" is JUST the printer driver for Vista. Check your printer driver version if you like. I suspect you may already have the Vista driver installed.

The latest version of Canon ZoomBrowser EX is listed. The info that I have found on this product indicates that it is compatible with Vista and should take care of your photo printing needs.

Good luck! I hope this helps you out...

Your original post included the words "workaround solution" and that is what may be necessary in your case. One of these "workarounds" is fooling your OS into thinking you had a previous version of ZoomBrowser EX installed. There are sites on the internet that "claim" that they can do this with a simple registry tweak. I cannot recommend any of them.

I would recommend contacting Canon. Explain your situation. I would be eager to know their response.

    Good luck to you!

    Sorry for late reply.
Did you try installing the printer driver only instead of total utilities.
    Thanks

Cannot install Selphy CP400 onto a Windows 7 (64 bit)machine.

download vista 64bit drivers (cp400x64mux.exe). Extract these using winzip or winrar or 7zip. Rightclick CNYCPINS.EXE, click Properties, click Compatibility tab, and select Vista SP2 mode. Connect printer, rightclick CNYCPINS.EXE and click 'run as administrator'. Printer is now installed, works fine on my Win7 Home Premium 64bit.

We recently installed Windows 7 onto our computer. My Canon Selphy CP760 Compact Photo Printer does now not work. What can I do about that? We previously had windows Vista.

Every time you install a new operating system, or reinstall one, you have to install the printer drivers. Printer drivers never come with the operating system files like hard drive drivers, video drivers, audio drivers, network drivers and stuff like that. OS manufacturers know that you are going to need that stuff no matter what, and for the most part, there are not that many manufacturers. But printers are different, you always have to install them. Here is the best printer driver I can find for your printer with Windows 7: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/selphy_compact_photo_series/selphy_cp760#DriversAndSoftware

Please note: This is a 32 bit driver (the link on the page) and Canon does not have a windows 7 - 64 bit driver yet. If you need a 64 bit driver, use the Vista 64 bit driver and install it in compatibility mode. Windows 7 compatibility mode is excellent...HP still does not have a Windows 7 driver for my printer, and I run mine off of a Vista driver and it works great. If you try to install it straight, it won't install, because most vista software is stricly Vista compatible. You have to open the folder, find the setup file that begins the install, and right click, and check compatibility options. You get a box that opens and you can check exactly what version of Vista with exactly what service pack...and be sure to check the little box that says install as administrator. If the install fails, and you can't find how to do this, do the install again...if the install fails I think it is 2 or 3 times...Windows will automatically pop up the box for you. Windows 7 is very intuitive....I LOVE IT!

I don't think Vista is supported for this printer and if not doubt that it will be as Microsoft are bringing out a new OS to replace it.

Canon MP500 all in one printer is not compatible with Windows Vista. Is there a solution for this problem, or do I need to buy a different printer?

My Canon PIXMA MP500, purchased in mid-2006, came with the (then) ScanSoft OmniPage SE2 software on a CD. The PC had WinXP Installed. I had no use for the ScanSoft it so I made no effort to install it.
Fast Forward:
Two PC crashes later, July 2009. Using Win Vista Home Premium
LOST, important WinWord document file, only a hard copy available.
I tried to recover, scanning the "Xerox" copy. The SE Version of OmniPage was very complicated but I succeeded in producing a replacement *.doc file.

It appears that newer editions of WinVista contain the right printer drivers for this Canon Model.
