Question about Computers & Internet
WHEN SHUTTING DOWN THE WINDOWS SCREEN SAYS SHUTTING DOWN WINDOWS. THEN THE CURSOR DISAPEARS, THE POWER AND HARD DRIVE LEDS GO OFF BUT THE POWER SUPPLY STAYS ON. IT WORK ON A DIFFERANT SYSTEM. TRYED ON WIN XP. ON WIN 7 THE SCREEN GOES OFF BUT THE POWER SUPPLY STAYS ON. I HAVE TO HOLD IN THE POWER BUTTON ON BOTH OPERATING SYSTEMS TO STOP THE POWER SUPPLY .
I HAVE SWITCHED HARD DRIVES OPTICAL DRIVES AND USED ON BOARD VIDEO AND ADDIN ATI PCI EXPRESS CARD ALL COMBINATIONS HAVE SAME SHUT DOWN RESULTS.
You will need to enable the Advance power management in Bios and on windows..
Try to see in the bios the advance setting for APM.
Some motherboard you have to enable this.
Other its simply on windows.
After the installation of windows
Go >Right click desktop>properties>then select screen saver tab>below click power>
Then click APM tab
enable and restart
May be this can solve this issues.
Or else I would advice to change the power supply and see.
