It sound like the power to the motor is reversed!...Is this a ceiling fan or a standing fan?...Ceiling fans have a tiny black button on the side of the base, look for that and switch it the other way, it will reverse direction.

Hope this helped, if so (or not )please rate, thank you!

Where can I get gears for Gourmet Living Shopko meat slicer?

Unfortunately meat slicers in this price range are throw away items if they break. Neither Gourmet Living or Shopko actually make this slicer so it is nearly impossible to find parts for. It is probably made in China.
I would suggest you spend a little more money (90.00) and get something like Nesco FS-140r. It has a one year warranty and you can buy parts for it thru Nesco.

What kinds of kitchen slicers are there?

Kitchen slicers can be of different kinds.
There are the mandolines, flat, generic slicers that make thinner and thicker slices of most kinds of hard fruits and vegetables.
There are the more specific kinds, that cut specific foods into specific shapes, like egg slicers or banana slicers, or apple slicers, or slicers that peel the fruit and remove the pit, like for pineapples, cherries and mangos. Of these specific kind there are many variations. There are twisters, that make thin twists of vegetables, usually used for carrots. There are spiral peelers, like for apples or pineapples. There are dicers that split the fruit in precise chunks.
And then there are the electric slicers, that shred and slice your food into bigger or smaller chunks or slices, for example to make fries by slicing potatoes into long thin rectangular pieces within minutes and with no physical effort.

What is the average price for a kitchen slicer?

The price for kitchen slicers depends on their size, quality, brand and number of functions that the slicer provides.
The price can vary from very simple slicers that cost a few dollars, sometimes even 1$, to more complete slicers of about 20$, to very professional ones and electric ones that can cost from 25$ to 100$ or 200$, depending on the kind of food they slice

Replacement motor

Did this just happen, was it running the correct direction before?

Tell me more about what you have here, and we will figure it out, sounds like a special motor that is made by the OEM and may or may not be available new,

I need more details and if it is special and has a good piece of equipment down, you can always mail it to me and I can see if I can reverse it or what the problem is
