If the element heats a lil bit its okay elements either work or dont, i woould check your switch before hand those elements rarely go out because they are not exposed to anything. once you get that console looseened or removed the top will pop off... check around the console or control look for some type of screws maybe endcaps covering ends or screas on back may have to remove knobs and lossen screews their as well.... you can go to sears.com and look at a parts breakdown for your model go to parts and service section, parts direct section hope this helps

Heating element in the oven appears to burn out, can it be repla

yes but be sure to turn the breaker off or unplug the stove cause the element has power on it on one side all the time and will short out when you take it out. you should see a screw on the plate that the element is attached to in the back of the oven that is how you get it out..

Baking element

oh bleep, right? well, if you're lucky this will get you going again. 1. disconnect power to range. 2. remove back metal cover just above range power cord (usually 5 quarter inch hex screws) 3. look for burnt off wire leading to/from bake element. If yes, 4. strip ends of broken wire and splice with ceramic wire nut if no 4. bad news. replace ERC (electronic range control) you fried something on the board. It's got the clock display and all the electronics behind it.

Oven lower element wiring

I just looked at the back wiring of my JBP90 oven. The main element (bottom) has both black wires together on one element terminal and the single yellow wire on the opposite terminal. Not that it should matter, but both blacks are on the left and the yellow is on the right as viewed from behind the oven.

Good Luck!

Bake Element

There should only be two wires that go to the element. It won't matter which wire goes on which terminal. Turn power off to unit before replacing the element. In some cases when the element burns out and breaks in have it will send a surge back to the oven control board and it will need to be replaced also. You will know once the element is replaced if it doesn't heat up.
