If you need to transfer music from computer to iPod, you can follow the steps below:
Step 1: Import source music from your computer to iTunes.
Step 2: Connect your iPod to computer and launch iTunes.
Step 3: Click on iPod icon and then click the "Music" tab in the new panel. Choose "Sync Music > Entire Music Library" and click "Apply". All your music will be synced from computer to iPod.

Connect Your ipod to PC with USB cable.
If you have music in your PC directly copy to your ipod

power the ipod using the AC charger. same thing happend with my toshiba mp3. when i plugged it to the ac charger n then connected to the computer, then it started working fine.
