Problem with the operating system, you need to repair the OS by booting up with the OS intstallation CD.

there will be some queries while booting from the disc but make sure you ignore the first repair, F8 to agree and then select the primary partition and press "R" to repair the windows OS.

it should solve your problem.

Blue screen frequently appears, and it reboot by itself? pavillion g7-1070us

A blue screen often called Blue Screen Of Death, BSOD, indicates that something is wrong with the computer. Usually it is a driver that is not correct or corrupt.
You need to specifically identify that the BSOD message is. If the system reboots before you can read it, boot the system while hitting F8 many times per second until you see a black and white screen with a number of options. Towards the bottom will be one regarding automatic restart on error. Uncheck that option. Now the BSOD will stay on the screen and you can post the stop code here to get help.
I hope this helps. I do this for fun & feedback not $$$

Inspiron 1720 reboots randomly. tried reseating ram and cant find solution. the reboot happens usually when i try to use programs and just shuts down and restarts like nothing happened. help is very...

most likely related to the blue screen issues. a possible reinstall of the OS may be needed. To check if it is blue screen related, restart the computer, press F8 when system restarts, then select the option to disable auto-restart option on the advanced options menu and press Enter. Next time you use the system, see if it will still auto-restart or if you'll get a blue screen. If there is an error, a system rstore or OS repair or reinstall may also be needed.

Cannot reload system software without blue screen

I use a panasonic UJ-870 DVD drive and it works. You don't necessarily need a proprietary drive. Otherwise try (if you can) switching the drive off then quickly on just before the Q1 restarts at reboot.

Blue Screen of Death

Here's a start....when it reboots, press F8 to get the safe mode screen. On it should be an option to disable automatic restart on error. That way, it won't restart when you get the BSOD and you can read what it is saying. I would start with making sure all drivers are up to date though.
