Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Calculator

1 Answer

Restore factory settings

I reset my TI-84 plus silver edition by clearing the memory. I was planning on only clearing the programs, lists, and variables. However, it also deleted everything under apps that was on my calculator when i bought it except for "finance". I don't know why it deleted what I didn't put into the calculator.

Did you go to delete all? If so then, that's what will happen. If you have your cord, you can put things back in your calculator like games and such, I'm not sure if it'll cost money and your calculator will be at risk of getting a virus too.

The residual list on my ti-84 calculator is not showing up after I reset the memory, what do I do?

When you reset the Memory you clear all in the RAM. Recreate your tables. If you do not want to lose something you created, archive it.

I need to clear the apps so that my students can test. What is the easiest way to do this?

You can reset all of the memory. The RAM, user data archive memory, and system variables are restored to factory settings. All nonsystem variables, applications, and programs are deleted.

Press 2ND [MEM] to display the MEMORY menu.

Select 7 to display the RAM ARCHIVE ALL menu.

Press right/arrow twice to display the ALL menu.

Select 1 to display the RESET MEMORY menu.

To continue with the reset, select 2. The message "Mem cleared" is displayed on the home screen.

I press the on button and it says TI-84nPlus 2.40 RAM cleared. When I click it lags and takes forever. I have already taken the batteries out and tried to solve it that way but nothing works. PLEASE HELP

Hi,

First, turn it on. Once the calculator is on, press the "2ND" key (I believe it is a blue key in the ti-84 plus silver edition). Now press the plus key (+). A little above that key, you should see the word "mem." When you see the screen titled MEMORY, move the cursor all the way down to the option that says "Reset." From here, you can choose to reset either the RAM memory, or the factory settings. The factory settings are the "Defaults" option. I hope this helps.

Thanks for using FIXYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Ti-84 plus silver edition will not graph

try going into the memory men (2ND - +), and selecting option 2.  Delete some stuff you know you don't need.  If the problem persists, 2ND - +, this time option 7.  Reset the defaults.  You won't lose anything, it will just reset the settings that may be causing this issue.

TI-84 back to factory setting

You actually don't need to restore factory settings for this. I did it accidently and fixed it quickly.

Go to Stat > Edit...

Scroll over until at the bottom of the screen it asks for a name. Press 2nd > 1. L1 should appear, so now, just press enter.

Or just go to Stat > SetUpEditor...
