That can happen if there is air in the gasline, which could be if the gasline(s) were recently installed or replaced, or if the dryer was just installed. If that is the case, it should purge itself after a few more attempts. If not the case, and the dryer has been working fine until now, then there's a problem within the dryer. Improper servicing of the burner assembly can pose an explosion hazard. You should consult a servicer to do the repairs.

Nikon d40 flash won't fire

Hi,

If it clicks when the flash is already open, it seems there would be a problem with the flash open sensor. The camera thinks the flash is closed, so it tries to open it again and it refuses to fire, because firing in the closed position would blow the bulb.

The D40 flash is a bit different, but if you open it (just unscrew the two little screws in front) you'll recognize the sensor clips. Open and close the flash and see if the make contact when open.

(And DON'T fire the flash when open, or at the very least don't touch anything in there when firing or you'll get zapped.

Goodluck..

with the solder tip attached push upward on the little black knob on the tip, its spring loaded and on one side reveals a small little chamber where you can see a small flame once you turn the gas on and apply a spark/match to the little opening. keep the knob still pushed up all this time. let the fire inside keep going, if you let the knob down and the window to the chamber closes before it gets hot enough the iron wont work but if you wait for a bit with the fire inside, then right below the tip you'll start to see that area glow red, once its glowing red your good to go, you can close the chamber and the catalyst will "burn" the gas in the area and make heat instead of the fire heating the tip. once you close the chamber you're holding open with your thunmb then the fire goes out, if its hot enough you're set to go, otherwise rinse repeat.

Installing the distributor on a 1996 vw golf

easy this one, take rocker cover off ,thent turn engine till timing mark of front pulley lines up,make sure the valves on no1 cylinder are closed and no4 are open .turn rotor arm on dist so it points to roughly no 1 lead an vac unit is clear of any thing it can touch ,fit distributor and place cap on so you can see which connector the rotor is pointing too the make that no1 ,and firing aoder is 1342.Fire up engine ,should start straight away ??then by moving distributor a little to either side till rpm goes up then back it off a bit and you should be about right for the timing ,if it pinks on acceleration a bit ****** it a little bit more .Make sure the vac advance unit works if fitted by sucking on the little pipe and then hold tongue on the end of the pipe and the vacumn should stay their .but this is a later model and i dont think it has a vacumn advance unit

Nail gun double fires

There is one main part that can be the cause of the problem.

The trigger. Check to see if there is anything out of the ordinary with this. There should be some moving components attached to the trigger itself. Is any part of the trigger touching the button in the body of the gun when safety is not depressed. If the lever on the trigger is pushing on the button, even a little bit, It will allow the gun to fire again and again.

I have to turn the key and hold it a second or two for it to fire up; on my husband's Buick, you only turn the key and it instantly fires up, but my Kia is a little bit more temperamental.
